Die Verlässlichkeit pur: Präzis, authentisch, eigenständig. Noch immer kräftige Tannine, die nun aber bereits gut eingebunden sind. Ausdrucksstarke Dörrfrüchte und dunkle Beeren. Ein wirklich grossartiger Wein. (1055 views)

Was für ein Auftritt: Zu Beginn sehr wuchtige Erdbeeren- und Himbeerenaromen, gefolgt von wilden Waldbeeren. Die herbalen (Thymian/Oregano) Düfte geben schöne Struktur. Insgesamt ziemlich wuchtig - daher nach der Hälfte nochmals einen Tag weggestellt. Am 2. Tag wirkt der Teroldego viel harmonischer, samtiger und balancierter.
Mein Tipp: Am Vorabend öffnen und im Kühler lassen oder mind. 1/2-Tag dekantieren vor dem Geniessen. Ein toller Wein, der aber noch etwas liegen bleiben darf.

dark ruby color. a purple hue as well. dense stone, and then followed by a blast of sage, mint, and other herbal greens. dark berries follow on the nose. medium plus body with medium plus acidity. more black and blue berries, dark cherries, and iron on the palate, then chopped green herbs towards the back. faint suggestion of fine tannins at the end and a medium length finish. flavor profile like the northern rhone, but body and mouth feel of sangiovese. singular and delicious. Paired with a 35 day dry aged prime rib for Christmas Eve dinner, a beautiful match. This wine is opaque and full of dark fruits, but in the Italian way. A wonderful floral, perhaps violet, with a touch of expensive leather in the nose. Though the leather notes develop with a bit of exposure to air. The palate is silky, really quite wonderful, along with the abundant dark fruits. The finish is mineral with just a hint of mint. Though it is drinking fine today, I see no reason why it will not improve with age. (1878 views)
