Really lovely, mature Meursault. Shockingly light and clear given its age. Lifted, clean nose of marzipan, jasmine, lemon cream, and a whiff of oaky spice. Nice texture and weight, with a little oily richness to go with the clean citrus and almond flavors. In a perfect spot. (1186 views)

Cellared since original release. Still light in color with classic Meursault butteriness in nose and mouth. Elegant and light in mouth with good enough acidity, freshness, and some oiliness of texture. Excellent showing for a 16 year-old village wine and a refutation to those who say that modern white Burgundies can't age. Even so, it's time to drink this one up, and it was even better a few years ago.

Quite tight at first but unfurls in the glass beautifully. You get some almond butter notes followed by ripe peach and white flowers. It is full in the mouth with good intensity and a nice line of citrus acidity. There's some honeysuckle and brulee development and it is a wine at its peak. (2487 views)

Pleasant wine but is without complexity. The ending was a bit off. Began without food and was better when food was added. I want to try another bottle to see if the off finish was just this bottle. (2852 views)

Nice nose of spring blossom, spice, honeycomb and toast. A little tricky on the palate in that you feel there is a touch of restraint when a minerally character first appears. Then, it’s as if the Wily Coyote has depressed the lever on the “Acme” tnt detonator, whammo, the flavours just explode in the mouth. It’s all lime brulee, minerals, milky lees and honey. The finish is crisp and the lime brulee heads towards more of a lime sherbet character. This is a village Meursault that is priced more like a Premier Cru but would blow many a fine Premier Cru right out of the water. (764 views)

The first two glasses were a tightly wound, energetic ball of lemon, chalk, nougat and white peach. After much coaxing, the last glass revealed a heart of pure, sweet orchard fruits, great density and sublime minerally length. I have been fortunate and encountered very few premox’d 2000's and admire the vintage very much for whites. (1606 views)

Nice glowing colour. Nose of brioche, nuts and almost cherry components. Thick body, cane syrup element (though dry) and an aged coffee note. Fat and apparent sweet middle and a nice finish with a slight spice, citrus which grows and slick note. Immaculate pairing of lobster risotto w/ fennel and Campari carrots.

While this basic AOC Meursault will never deliver the impact and distrinction of a cru, the magic of the pairing would be hard to replicate with the higher level. (1964 views)

A couple of white Burgundies (Copenhagen): Medium yellow colour. The bouquet revealed notes of Fried mushrooms, wet soil, roasted nuts and smoke (in many ways this wine smelled like a red wine). Medium bodied with a great fat oily flow. Good structure and definition with the trademark Lafon sweet vanilla/chocolate-like core of flavour. The acidity is quite forgiving, even at this early stage. Delicious aftertaste on notes of vanilla, citrus and lemon. (3257 views)
