This has got a lot better. Still some harshness to the mouth but it has mellowed out somewhat and the nose is gaining complexity. (2350 views)

Ordered this at a Chez Jean Pierre, in Stamford CT. Decanted for about an hour. After some twirling of the glass, wine gave forth ever so subtle aromas of berry and grape jam. Thin and short on the palate (13% alc), with faint hints of fruit and berry.No tannins, no alcohol, no punch, but pleasant and delicate. At $92 however, egregiously over-priced even for a restaurant bottle. Then again, I've yet to find a Bordeaux that is value for the money... (1142 views)

An interesting Pauillac nose, classic Bordeaux with pencil shaves and earth. Unfortunately, the mouth is very light on fruit, leaving things a bit dry and tannin-ed. I'm almost tempted to dose it with a shot creme de casis to see how things develop... still, an enjoyable wine. (1158 views)
