I had opened one of these soon after release, did NOT like it, no notes taken at the time. Opened tonight expecting to dump it. Very pleasantly surprised, evolving nose of Forrest floor, mushroom, meat. Tastes like cherry cola. This was a gift years ago, but had I paid $25 I would be stoked. Unlike 16 months ago, this bottle did not exhibit the young juice flavors right upon opening. It was still tight but enjoyable. Over the next 3hrs the nose on this was constantly evolving, floral, cola, chocolate, earth, perfume. Really enjoyable. A bigger style pinot than I normally drink but damn tasty. No nose at first, very subtle. Cedar, flint, pencil lead, wet stone flavors I associate with Calera. More spicy, pepper flavors. The pepper actually overwhelmed as the tasting went on.
