Tasted by pilatus88 on 1/29/2023 & rated 92 points: I really like the smooth layers of fruit in this one. You really catch the grape varieties in a good way. (182 views)
Tasted by pilatus88 on 11/5/2022 & rated 92 points: Lovely wine with such smoothness and clarity in the dark fruit. Bright and long with dark plum, leather and some smokiness in the finish. Fully integrated and no edgy tannins that i remember from earlier tastings. (192 views)
Tasted by pilatus88 on 6/11/2022 & rated 91 points: Dark brick color. Loads of dark fruit and pepper on the nose. Black currant, leather, some sweet balsamic notes, long and structured. I like it a lot. (239 views)
Tasted by pilatus88 on 6/11/2021 & rated 91 points: Drinking very well. Full body of dark fruit and i value the lack of traditional Syrah characteristics. This is mellow, aromatic, long and deep. (346 views)
Tasted by pilatus88 on 2/11/2021 & rated 90 points: Mellowed a lot in past years. Drink up, it is lovely now but i fear it will go down hill from here. (378 views)
Tasted by jnewman77 on 8/29/2016: Dark purple. Nose with black raspberry, black currant, green tobacco, spice, and forest floor. Palate is big but not overwhelming. Decent balance. A ripe and rich example of nero d'avola that is good but not great (1104 views)
Tasted by pilatus88 on 4/6/2016 & rated 91 points: spicy and full bodied. Mellow on the mid palate with good structure and balance and a perfect companion to the cheese plate tonight. (1078 views)
Tasted by pilatus88 on 5/31/2015 & rated 91 points: Lush, thick and spicy. Elegant finish approaching its peak. What is there not to like... (1350 views)
Tasted by pilatus88 on 12/25/2013 & rated 91 points: Dark and inky with notes of cherries and cedar. Still some present tannins adding to the full expression of spicy dark plum and tabacco that grows in the finish in a very pleasant way. It has all the componants but does not come together to score higher on the scale. it will last for another few years although i doubt it will score higher. (2038 views)
Tasted by jcasey555 on 12/31/2012 & rated 94 points: Great full bodied dark brick colored wine; some anise on the nose, silky smooth tannins on the palate with a long finish (2736 views)
Tasted by joshwoodward on 10/5/2011 & rated 85 points: Pnp. Dark. Concentrated but simple tart red fruit flavors. Not bad, but this drinks like a $10 California wine that's been open for a week. (3037 views)
Tasted by ScubaSommelier on 6/22/2011 & rated 90 points: Better tonight than last time. About 40 min in decanter. Much like a petite sirah with big inky feel with black licorice undertones. (3341 views)
Tasted by ScubaSommelier on 2/5/2011 & rated 86 points: This bottle was above average, but I just didn't experience the 94 pt rating given by WS. I felt the feel on the tongue was a little rough, like it was slightly out of balance or too young. I'll wait a few more years before trying it again. It gas potential, I just did not feel it tonight. Time in decanter was about 20 minutes and was poured through an aerator. (3261 views)
Tasted by mwanasheria on 7/16/2010 & rated 90 points: Light purple. Closed at first, but improved tremendously over dinner. Notable acidity, earth, chocolate, plums. (2692 views)
Tasted by Weston3220 on 1/6/2010 & rated 90 points: Trialto Trade Tasting (Cibo Restaurant at the Moda Hotel [Vancouver, Canada]): Earth, Chocolate, Red Fruit (3700 views)
Tasted by David J Cooper on 3/10/2009: Light red. A very closed nose, hints of black fruit and maybe sausage. Black pepper? Nice flavours and a long dry finish. Others really liked this. I liked it but not as much. (2289 views)

Syrah

Varietal article (Wikipedia) | (Wines Northwest)

Note that some producers in the Northern Rhone distinguish between simply Syrah and "Serine", the latter described as ‘an ancient clone of Syrah, the berries of which are more oval-shaped and less deeply pigmented than Syrah’ by producer Tardieu-Laurent.
