(464 views)
Tasted by cubswinws on 1/4/2024 & rated 95 points: Just outstanding. Bright fruit and spicy savory notes on the finish.
Just a great ChnP. (612 views)
Tasted by Vinnut on 10/30/2023 & rated 93 points: Medium ruby red in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & raspberries with overtones of garrigue & floral notes, earth/dusty, pepper, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, strawberries & plums with herbs, spices, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing but has the structure to continue further development with additional aging. (843 views)

Impressionnante transformation. Franchement délicieux, mes excuses au producteur! :)

Tasted by z747gdgh45 on 7/2/2023 & rated 90 points: Deep color, intense nose.
Strawberry jam is pronounced. Plum, currants, blueberry, raspberry. Vanilla, wood, tobacco
Just slightly hot, but intensity of flavor makes this 90+ IMO. (862 views)
Tasted by Matt Scott on 6/25/2022 & rated 95 points: Decanted for two hours and finished the next day. Wild blueberries, red brick, pipe tobacco, ripe raspberries, rosemary and lilacs, with river rock. Very tame, and expansive during the flowing, echoing finish. Fine , almost feathery tannins; there’s this round middle and intense core. Young, primal and a true pleasure. Drink 2025 - 2040. (1698 views)

AOC Red Châteauneuf du Pape
Cuvée Hautes Brusquières

Grape varieties :
This cuvee is made up of Grenache (70%) and Syrah (30%)
The vines are between 30 to 50 years old.
Situation and soil type :
All the grapes come from the Brusquières plateau, in the north of Châteauneuf du Pape, where we can find the famous round pebbles and a clayey subsoil
Vats :
Wood and stainless steel with temperature control

Vatting :
Since 2000, we have decided to destem and to crush all grapes
Vatting lasts 3 to 5 weeks, depending on the vintage at a temperature between 25 and 30°C
A release or a punching of the cap is done every 2 days and pumping over every day.
The malolactic fermentation happens in barrels and vats.
Ageing :
Ageing continues in barrels and big oak tanks during 12 – 18 months depending on the vintage.
Tasting :
This is an atypical cuvee in terms of its complexity of aromas: deep spice, black fruit flavors and chocolate notes are overlaid with leather and a wild complexity.
This complex nectar needs a long cellaring to 15 years from vintage.
Further information:
The cuvee bottled without filtration is stocked in our warehouse air-conditioned at 16°C.

Red Rhone Blend

Read about the different grapes used to produce red and white Rhone wines
On CellarTracker, Red Rhone Blend is the term for a wine consisting of two or more of the traditional 13 Southern Rhone grape varieties. Typically it's the Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre or Cinsault grapes, but can also contain the Muscardin, Counoise, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Roussanne, Terret Noir, Picardan or Vaccarese grapes.

A 'food' wine. Lacking pretension and intended for local consumption with local cuisine. Lacks the 'high' notes on a Bordeaux, more earthy and sharper so often a better partner to meat dishes with a sauce.

"As I have written many times in the past, the sweet spot for drinking Châteauneuf du Papes is usually the first 5-6 years after the vintage. Then they seem to go through an adolescent, awkward, and sometimes dormant stage, only to re-emerge around year 10-12, where the majority of wines are often fully mature. The best of them will continue to hold on to life (but rarely improving) beyond 15-20 years. It is only the exceptional Châteauneuf du Papes that will evolve for 20-25+ years, and those are indeed a rarity. However, things may be improving dramatically in terms of the longevity of Châteauneuf du Pape, although Grenache-dominated wines, the vast majority of wines produced in the appellation, are wines that do not have the polyphenol (extract and tannin) content of top Cabernet Sauvignons, Merlots, or Syrah-based wines. Nevertheless, the younger generation in Châteauneuf du Pape has taken seriously the farming in the vineyards. There are more organic and biodynamically run vineyards here than in any other appellation of France. The yields, which were already low, are even lower today (20-35 hectoliters per hectare), and of course, the proliferation of top luxury and/or old-vine cuvées gives a significant boost to the number of wines that will evolve past 25 or 30 years. The advantage of these wines is their broad window of drinkability." - Robert Parker
