Tasted by YOONA wapa on 3/30/2024 & rated 89 points: nose: milk, plum, smoke
palate: grape jam, plum, pepper

(283 views)
Tasted by Gman_21 on 11/23/2023 & rated 92 points: Peppery and balanced with bright red fruit. Fantastic with Thanksgiving (766 views)
Tasted by nzinkgraf on 11/20/2023: 53% Grenache

1st vintage was 1996
Quite chewy to the palate
240 acres of estate plantings at Torbreck (760 views)
Tasted by Jaymnik on 11/10/2023 & rated 92 points: Ruby coloured, nose of dark berries, brown sugar, baking spices. Ripe cherry and blackberry to taste, into mocha, thyme, black olives. Supple tannins and a very smooth finish. Overall it is quite soft so wonder how much more it’ll age. Still, first from case I’ll enjoy the rest of. (830 views)
Tasted by Papies on 9/27/2023 & rated 92 points: Served blind and welt for new world , CdP blend wine and when told its not American we went directly to Barossa 5yrs old wine.
This wine punches way above its price and frankly is a lot purer and rounder than the beasts that sometimes Torbreck churns and sells at much much higher prices. This was for sure on point and drinks ever so well and thus the 92 albeit objectively a lesser wine. (1272 views)
Tasted by gnsti on 9/8/2023 & rated 91 points: 달콤한 과일향에 블랙베리, 블랙커런트, 스파이시, 후추
팔렛으로도 이어지는 달콤한 과실, 꽤나 괜찮은 산미, 부드러운 질감.
달콤한 뉘앙스가 살짝 약했다면 좋았을 것 같다.
무르베르드의 뉘앙스가 너무 강조되는듯.
그래도 그것만 빼면 상당히 인상적. (917 views)
Tasted by Siwink57 on 9/2/2023 & rated 91 points: First sip, after 30 minutes of air, I thought I was drinking a CDP as I was considering one along with this bottle for dinner. Nice balance of fruit and acidity. One of the better Australian GSMs I have had. Only had the one bottle filling out a case buy, but may repurchase. At 5 years, no need to cellar further. Similar to a Southern Rhone blend. 4.1 stars. (652 views)
Tasted by mfimiani47 on 5/19/2023 & rated 90 points: Raspberry still beams through with some extracted sweetness. This bottle seemed to fall a bit flat in the mid-palate. Good not great. (1269 views)
Tasted by VincentStThomas on 1/15/2023 & rated 90 points: A lighter shade of red. Showing blackberries and raspberries on the palate, along with hints of spice, licorice, a touch of earth and crushed stone. Rather light, almost feathery tannins. There’s the slightest bit of astringency on the finish; the alcohol, too, is fairly big on this, though I wouldn’t say that it’s obtrusive or poorly integrated. It’s just a big, ripe Barossa Valley GSM. Not bad. Not bad, at all. (1816 views)
Tasted by Nelsongwinn on 11/9/2022 & rated 91 points: Deep red color, deep rich and complex fruit, long finish. (1796 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 9/13/2022: "'18 was a cracking vintage" I am being told. Soft and round, and full bodied mid-palate. A purple patch which means a good time in Australian. Gentle ox, about 9 L every two weeks from teh barrls I am being told. Serious old vine material going up to 150 year old. Still ungrafted as it goes. Savory black olive, umami, soy sauce. Seriously epic wine in quite a nice package I am being told. (2138 views)
Tasted by Venkar on 9/4/2022 & rated 91 points: Savoury wine blackberry with meaty elements. (1894 views)
Tasted by mfimiani47 on 8/28/2022 & rated 92 points: Spices, plum and some sweet raspberry. At first I was nervous that it might be too sweet but there is a smokiness that cuts right through it. Almost like some bbq’d meat with a fruit-based bbq sauce. Tasting this makes you immediately want to throw meat on the grill. Very fresh despite how brooding it is. Really good and should get even better. (1553 views)
Tasted by CC_H on 8/3/2022 & rated 92 points: Cherry, wild flowers, spiced plum, raspberry, smoked earth, herbs and licorice all emerge on the fabulous nose. The palate is broad, polished and sumptuous with a wonderful sense of purity, freshness and fruit concentration along with a granitic, mineral streak. The tannins melt through the long, gently grippy finish. Just emerging into its prime drinking window, for the money this has to be the top value buy from Torbreck and will offer serious pleasure for at least another 6-7+ years. (1392 views)
Tasted by FransS on 5/22/2022 & rated 92 points: Henri Bloem Bloemendaal, spring tasting event:
Tasted twice, kirsch, round, even sweetness due to its youth, juicy, as dry as possible, as the '15 Woodcutter's a hint of overconcentration, but in balance and quite polished in the finish; premier league. (1082 views)
Tasted by Genghis88 on 5/5/2022 & rated 90 points: dark luscious brooding liquid
jammy, oak filled nose, with lots of all spice
thick and unctuous. definitely a jammy oak bomb right now, but still enjoyable. It should settle down and integrate in the future. It's a fun, well priced wine. Went great with lamb chops tonight. (1027 views)
Tasted by kostaslonis on 3/2/2022: Nicliani Portfolio tasting (Beef bar): Different in style than the previous wines from Torbreck, the wine is more earthy and spicy, looks far more “European”, its more herbal too, licorice, minty, dense oak frame, smoke paprika. Palate is very smooth, beautiful, juicy, elegant, smooth tannins, black fruit, long finish (713 views)
Tasted by kostaslonis on 7/14/2021: Random wines tried before service (Oinoscent): The wine was sampled at Oinoscent, via Coravin, bottle brought by importer.

The wine is very strange in the nose, thick and dense fruity core, floral and cinnamon notes.
In the palate, the wine is way more silky than expected, sweetness from the ripe black fruit, currant, cherries, nice oak frame, cinnamon again with a bit of heat in the medium to long finish (1677 views)
Tasted by CamWheeler on 4/24/2021 & rated 86 points: Magnificent 6 Ride Again: Blind. Licorice, lifted and floral notes, blackberry as well. Rather sweet on the palate, the ripeness stands boldly at the forefront. I haven't had this wine in quite a few years and it's just how I remember it - not for me. (1228 views)
Tasted by Jeremy Holmes on 9/8/2020: Rich and sweet red berry fruit with a passionfruit skin note. It is ripe and fleshy and has good chew. (2285 views)
Tasted by chatters on 7/10/2020: Friday at the strand (Strand Cellars, Croydon): Ripe blackberry, savoury spices, a little plum, with time sweet spice shows through. Juicy but dense, black fruit compote, thick, chewy, chalky textured tannins, alcoholic warmth is non-intrusive on the finish, the tannins close down the finish though, Hmm. (2014 views)

Red Rhone Blend

Read about the different grapes used to produce red and white Rhone wines
On CellarTracker, Red Rhone Blend is the term for a wine consisting of two or more of the traditional 13 Southern Rhone grape varieties. Typically it's the Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre or Cinsault grapes, but can also contain the Muscardin, Counoise, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Roussanne, Terret Noir, Picardan or Vaccarese grapes.

A 'food' wine. Lacking pretension and intended for local consumption with local cuisine. Lacks the 'high' notes on a Bordeaux, more earthy and sharper so often a better partner to meat dishes with a sauce.
