After a half hour it started to smooth out and fatten up with some riper fruits and there was no oxidative elements. Initially more semi-sweet lemon and olive oil on both the nose and palate with some white stones. After an hour the lemon notes became more like lemon custard, the acidity still plentiful but perfect for food. Some ripe mandarin peel, tropical fruits and orange blossom notes with a faint touch of vanilla Oak also appeared. This wine needs another 2-3 years before it might be a p-n-p, but at that time with a just a little air it will probably be showing its best side and merit a higher score. Notes: quite full in body with an attractive nose full of stone fruits and sesame seeds. With a diverse set of aroma this is a wonderful white with plenty of complexity. Nevertheless, I do feel that a better job can be done on the palate as it seems to be a little high on acidity so it lacks the balance one would expect compared to the nose it delivers. This is probably due to the difficult vintage of 2016 for white so it's not surprising that the palate is a little weak. I usually like this 1er Cru a lot and have been a fan of the Domaine's wines.

The wine is fairly ripe and round, with just enough acidity that sneaks in to make it balanced, very classy and not as great as my last one a year ago but still very good. The color and nose shows it is older then what it should be but the palate shows no fatigue, gorgeous, balanced, intense, great texture, very long, love it and i wouldn’t keep any bottle too long. Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.
