Tasted by Wcondon on 6/14/2012 & rated 73 points: Gone bad. Past its prime. Oxidized I think. Down the drain with it (2835 views)
Tasted by Khinsley on 11/24/2011 & rated 82 points: Disappointed me a bit. Some acidity, very light. Not very complex. Got more apple flavor than anything else. Not worth the price I paid. (2990 views)
Tasted by CJM on 2/10/2011 & rated 87 points: nicely balanced flavors; heavy fruit pale yellow color (3295 views)
Tasted by Briangray77 on 1/29/2011 & rated 85 points: Beautiful dark golden color. On the nose I get some fresh flowers and a little citrus with a whole lotta heat. On the palate there really isnt much of anything. The mouthfeel is nice but there is no fruit or flowers, no minerality and only a hint of acidity on the finish. If I sit and concentrate really hard I get a little herby green vegetable celery thing. Aww man thats too bad. The finish, the little that there is sticks around for a while but not my favorite wine.... (3220 views)
Tasted by wineshlub on 5/16/2010 & rated 84 points: Faint peach aroma. Peach and lime (and a bit of the dreaded pineapple) on the palate, lingering pineapple finish. Not bad, and definitely better for not having oak, but overengineered. (3389 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 3/9/2010: Spring pea and fava bean to it. Not bad at all. Richer fruit, would be nicer, to me, with allot more acid to it. Off of this property they source all thier own water. At $19.99 its all right. (1488 views)
Tasted by Night Train on 12/27/2009 & rated 84 points: Decent food wine (nice acidity), but there are plenty of "grocery store" whites that offer more bang for the buck. (1571 views)
Tasted by Zinny on 7/11/2009 & rated 86 points: St Supery is one of my favorite producers of inexpensive wines that I can find at my supermarket. This wine, however, leaves me wanting more. With flavors of pears, apples and hints of tropical fruits this is just too boring for the price ($25 from the winery or $18-20 at the supermarket). For $12 I would be very happy with this as a food wine but there are just too many wines that crush this one in the $20 neighborhood. This wine doesn't really have any major flaws . . but for $20 you have to bring something more. It is somewhat flabby, too. (1614 views)
Tasted by drewrowe on 6/4/2009 & rated 90 points: What a treat! Just bursting with fruit flavor...should have bought a case when it was available. (1673 views)
Tasted by strikingvisage on 2/15/2009: Pear, mild apple, and very slight floral/melon notes on the nose; some white fruit and crispness on the palate but a little too acidic and rather thin and weak overall. (1580 views)
Tasted by AllRed on 11/14/2008: Poured at a retailer tasting. Pale color. Notes of pear, lychee and an unfamiliar nut-like aroma. Flavors of pear and apple, with a touch of minerality. Quite nice. (1619 views)
Tasted by jhannah27 on 5/14/2008 & rated 88 points: Considering the wonderfully floral and bright flavors that the unoaked Chardonnay exhibits, who decided that it was a great idea to distort it by all the oak influence? I mean, it seems wierd to me that we designate this an "Unoaked Chardonnay." It would seem more rational to call this a Chardonnay, and the typical butter bomb the "oaked" Chardonnay. But I digress...Another very enjoyable offering from St. Supery. This exhibits crisp, fresh apple and pear notes, with the slightest bit of acidity. Very smooth and even elegant. This is one of those wines that you would want to take on a picnic in the park with an assortment of cheeses. (1785 views)

Chardonnay

The Chardonnay Grape

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
