Community Tasting Notes (average 90 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 36 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by LW31 on 2/23/2019: Delicious. Just needed some time (I often find these too big when first released, like Condrieu). This was really nice--Zibibbo exotic notes, touch of honey, quite sappy on finish, hint of wild herbs. Think best now. (1332 views)
Tasted by Rich.Herbs on 2/19/2019: Nice package (see other tasting notes), but lacking zip, probably because I waited too long. (1224 views)
Tasted by DoubleMagnum on 3/20/2018 & rated 90 points: Golden in color with an interesting old winery nose. It's definitely a bit oxidative in style but I like it. It gives it a nutty complexity that rounds it up. Medium bodied and far from the sweet end of the spectrum but this is quite interesting. Had it with corvina in an olive, tomato and basil salsa and it was quite delicious. (1532 views)
Tasted by isaacjamesbaker on 7/22/2016 & rated 89 points: Gold/light orange color. Smells so interesting: honey, peanut brittle and saline on top of peaches and lychee. Medium acidity and a light/medium-body. Juicy apricots, peachese and lychee create a tropical frame for the green olive, spiced tea and sea salt elements. Very cool and stylish stuff, per usual from Arianna. A unique flavor profile. Tasted blind, as Tooch said, I could see guessing this as a Northern Rhone white blend. (2650 views)
Tasted by dsamuel on 5/28/2016: Not sure what to think as I haven't tried this win in the past. Color medium/dark gold, already Im concerned as this is not consistent with previous reviews. Medium intensity aromas of honeysuckle/apple with bit of baking spice. Very thin on the palate, lacking any body, with only medium acidity. Not obvious, but based on previous reviews, Im guessing this was corked. (2628 views)
(2247 views)
Tasted by walkerjfw on 2/20/2016 & rated 90 points: At Locanda in SF, nice spot with a good list of Italian and CA wines. First experience with the whites, like the Occhipinti reds I have had...

Light straw color. Nose was sweet fruits, white flowers, lavender, pears. Dry and light wine, not sweet on the palate. would have pegged this as a viognier. Interesting palate, pears, quince, citrus and floral notes. Clean and crisp. Medium finish.

Very nice wine, departure from traditional varietals (at least in the US). Would work great as an aperitif or a range of seafood/veggies (2340 views)
Tasted by Rich S on 11/30/2015 & rated 91 points: Fragrant nose of white florals, honeysuckle, a bit of lavendar/soap, some stone fruit, floral honey and citrus. The nose gave the indication that the wine would almost be sweet but it is definitely dry and lighter on the palate than the nose led me to believe. Citrus, peach and floral flavors on the palate with medium+ acid and a clean finish. I dig it. (2684 views)
Tasted by LoireFan on 9/17/2015: Took awhile to come around. (1704 views)
Tasted by LoireFan on 8/20/2015 & rated 88 points: Flat, boring, unlike the others bottles I've had. (1636 views)
Tasted by Grochol on 8/9/2015 & rated 89 points: Nose: very floral (white and yellow flowers) almost like viognier or gewurztraminer, lemon peel, grape, herbs, waxy
Taste: light bodied, medium+ acidity, very fresh, lemon, floral notes again, unripe peach, mineral notes, fairly long finish, very interesting wine (1454 views)
Tasted by FDP on 8/8/2015 flawed bottle: Hmmm, just like Colima74, mentioned i had a similar experience with my first bottle og this, i didn't buy more than 1 as it was supposed to be a test to see what i thought .
Unfortunately i think it was somehow flawed....maybe because i just had recived it from the shop, which meant it had been traveling for some days ( 2 )....and maybe that could do such a thing to the wine...well i dont know and not sure i will risk another bottle. (1474 views)
Tasted by JohanPe on 7/26/2015 & rated 90 points: Consistent with previous note. Lovely nose, light structured palate. Very good. (1538 views)
Tasted by sunnylea57 on 5/26/2015 & rated 92 points: Rich nose and palate. Nose is floral or like spring wild flowers. The palate start off almost like a white burgundy, with buttery honeysuckle and excellent viscosity. Some nuttiness on the finish. So good! (1554 views)
Tasted by wirelesswine on 5/22/2015 & rated 92 points: Intense florals on the nose, with some orange blossom honey, honeysuckle. Similar flavors carry through with firm acid, and overall this is just a killer wine that paired fabulously with grilled tilefish. (1452 views)
Tasted by FjordogFjell on 5/10/2015 & rated 83 points: 3,5/5 Overdøvende svovel ved åpning, må luftes. Må prøves igjen en gang (535 views)
Tasted by Sennma on 4/4/2015 & rated 91 points: Tightly wound...quite aromatic and loads of sunshine. The palate is like roasted lemon pledge (and I mean that in a good way). Abit of drying bitter almond on the finish. Also has a some of that rain on rocks quality. Some left over so I stuck a cork in it and tasted on day 2. Aromatics were a bit more restrained and the wine picked up some weight. More complete on day 2. (1626 views)
Tasted by acyso on 4/3/2015 & rated 88 points: A Good Friday (Chicago, IL): What an experience. A very high-toned lemon nose. Super aromatic, super bright, you can almost taste the warm Sicilian sunshine. This has a lot of acidity, but it doesn't have the same intensity that you'd find from a chardonnay or riesling. The dominant thing here are the intense perfumed aromatics, that somehow still play out on the palate. Super fun to try. (2156 views)
Tasted by tooch on 4/3/2015 & rated 90 points: Good Friday Drinks (Domaine Wine Storage - Chicago, IL): Nose is a dead ringer for a Northern Rhone viognier. Intense floral notes with some lemons and cereal notes. The palate was pretty much in line with what you'd expect from a Northern Rhone viognier too. Acid was low/medium, flavors were properly concentrated, and it had nice balance. If tasted blindly, I would have had 100% confidence that this was French! (2401 views)
Tasted by jorivesud on 3/11/2015 & rated 86 points: Paille dorée.
Nez assez particulier, florale, souffre, miel et un peu d'écorce de citron.
En bouche, plutôt décevant, peu acide, pas très long et un peu plat. Un vin différent, correct sans plus. (1589 views)
Tasted by poptart_mcstrudel on 3/8/2015 & rated 92 points: Nose: Floral, honeysuckle, apple, pears, citrus peel

Taste: light oak, lots of acid, medium body. Pears, Hints of butterscotch, honeysuckle, floral, minerality. Long finish.

I love this wine again. (1327 views)
Tasted by LoireFan on 3/8/2015 & rated 91 points: Need more of this. (1398 views)
Tasted by poptart_mcstrudel on 2/16/2015 & rated 92 points: Crisp, lots of acid, honey dew, melon, honeysuckle floral
Super balanced, long finish

Phenomenal wine. (1337 views)
Tasted by Colima74 on 1/4/2015 & rated 92 points: After a disappointing first bottle a while back (which I'm now sure was an off bottle), we opened two lovely bottles to share with Italian friends from Friuli and Trieste. We sipped this while making raviolis, and then consumed the second bottle with dinner.

Uplifting nose. Honey, pear, peach and precise acidity on the palate. Delicious. I lament having only one remaining bottle. (1698 views)
Tasted by Tony Molester on 1/1/2015: Diam cork
N:Aromatic yet uncloying nose of ripe peach
P:plush texture, soft flavours.
