Great QPR. (2232 views) | | Tasted by Trax on 1/3/2009 & rated 83 points: Decent pear flavors, but I thought the flavors were overshadowed by oak. Usually like Sebastiani chard, but this year just didn't do it for me. (2141 views) | | Tasted by neighborbill on 6/24/2008 & rated 86 points: Nice oak & pear flavors with decent mouthfeel (1970 views) | | Tasted by WineontheBarrelhead on 6/13/2008 & rated 87 points: A classlic expression of California Chardonnay, exhibiting a nose of candied tropical fruit, vanilla, and smoke followed by mouth-filling, forward flavors of ripe peach, butter, and toast, with a generous dollop of oak running seamlessly throughout. Full-bodied, jammy, and delicious, it's done very much in the California style. (2453 views) | | Tasted by Chrisinroch on 3/18/2008 & rated 83 points: I normally think this is a great budget US style chard. This was really thin and uninteresting. Tropical flavors, but still very thin. Finish was hot and quick. Again, usually a great value, but this year, no thanks. (2092 views) | | Tasted by petitblanc on 1/9/2008 & rated 88 points: Pretty light green/gold, with a few bubbles. Nice nose showing considerable warm oak, citrus, chalk and white flowers. Palate is sweet, creamy, noticeably acidic, a bit alcoholic, with nicely integrated oak. Long, pleasant finish. Not bad, better before it warmed up. (1583 views) | | Tasted by MeMyself&I on 1/2/2008 & rated 86 points: not bad all all. good fruit notes and some oak. (1578 views) | | Tasted by MarcInDSM on 12/23/2007 & rated 90 points: This kills. So tasty and pleasant, there is plenty of well-integrated oak that gives that buttered popcorn flavor the dominance here. Will definitely buy again and again. (1724 views) | | Tasted by dwaynelm on 11/21/2007 & rated 84 points: Slightly over-oaked, not balanced. (1150 views) | | Tasted by Redline325 on 7/7/2007 & rated 89 points: Very buttery, smooth. Nice finish (1561 views) | | Tasted by docmckay on 6/15/2007 & rated 91 points: Drank this bottle with home made Chicken Saltimboca over mixed baby greens. We also used the wine in the recipe which undoubtedly helped the pairing.
Oh but what a pairing it made! This Chard was refreshing and smooth. It cleansed the salt and shallot from my palette with crisp balanced oak. Delicious. Highly recommended.
I know everybody hears this line...I normally don't like most Chardonnays. I don't however. This one I drank happily. Heck, I drank it greedily. My wife and I have done this recipe and pairing twice. It was amazing the first time and even better the 2nd time around. (1320 views) | | Tasted by dwaynelm on 4/10/2007 & rated 88 points: Pears with nicely balanced oak - amazingly good for the price - $9 (1324 views) | | Tasted by thegrapes on 2/24/2007 & rated 90 points: Very smooth. Excellent Chardonnay for the price. (2570 views) |

Chardonnay The Chardonnay GrapeUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Sonoma CountyMendocino CountySonoma CountySonoma Coast |
