| Community Tasting Notes (average 91 pts. and median of 91 pts. in 26 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by sstein19 on 6/8/2023 & rated 93 points: Pale yellow in color. Nose of pear, orange blossom, peach, and honeysuckle. Second nose opens up with more of the same, lemon sorbet, pineapple, and minerality. Light with a tart finish. Flavors of lemon and pineapple. (899 views) | | Tasted by BadOyster on 7/10/2022 & rated 88 points: More floral than in previous years, with a lighter dose of fruit and petrol. Acidity is good, and most people might like the meringue. I find this wine has lost some of its pizazz of the 2010-2015 era. It’s appropriately priced at $27 (at my local Whole Foods!) but for $5 more you could have a full-throttle, far more interesting Massican. (1988 views) | | Tasted by rougeamore on 7/1/2022 & rated 91 points: This wine is pale lemon in color with medium citrus aromas and some floral notes. On the palate, medium intensity lemon and apple notes. The wine has bright acidity and paired well with salmon cakes. (1799 views) | | Tasted by P.A. Cross on 6/6/2022: Clear, light crispy yellow, leads to smells of citrus, flowers and summer grass. Slightly delicate but layered flavors of honeydew melon, tangy green apple, and dried lemon. Super balanced with mouthwatering acidity. Very pleasant and very nice on a warm summer evening. (1798 views) | | Tasted by jimyeni on 4/7/2022 & rated 91 points: More mineral driven, some pineapple, baking spices. (2183 views) | | Tasted by galewskj on 12/10/2021 & rated 90 points: Napa trip day 6: Drank a glass over 45 minutes at the winery's tasting facility. Softer than the 2020 but just as floral. Slight grapefruit and lychee. (1479 views) | | Tasted by I'd Rather Be Drinking Wine on 12/10/2021: Epic Napa Trip - Day 6: Tasted at Quintessa - Tasted this along with the 2020.....both tasted similar with plenty of citrus and tropical flavors, as well as a tropical and floral nose. I am not a Sauvignon Blanc fan, and this wine did not make me one either. Plenty of people will love this, just not me. :) Unrated because Sauv Blanc is not in my wheelhouse. (2462 views) | | Tasted by Decanting Queen on 7/31/2021 & rated 90 points: Very floral nose, intensely fruity on the palate with tropical fruits and citrus. Adds complexity with about 30 min of air. A steal for $29 and great QPR but not my preferred style. (3426 views) | | Tasted by Mark1npt on 6/17/2021 & rated 92 points: Excellent quality here for the price. Crisp SBlanc, nice green apple....perfect acidity. Perfect summer wine. Need to buy more! (2946 views) | | Tasted by Winning_Wines on 7/21/2020 & rated 92 points: 85% Sauvignon Blanc, 15% Semillon. Crisp, clean, and balanced. Rich with citrus, honey and tropical fruit, while ultimately being perfectly light-bodied. A great summer white. (2295 views) | | Tasted by KTelaak_Buffalo on 6/29/2020 & rated 90 points: Young, high acidity, FULL flavor, smooth finish. | Quintessa Producer websiteSauvignon Blanc Varietal CharacterUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson North CoastThe North Coast American Viticultural Area (AVA) in California, covering more than three million acres, includes Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake counties, and portions of Marin and Solano counties.
