I just wanted to add, over that last few bottles, this wine needs about 30 minutes of air before drinking. (1285 views)

Tasted by Tonythefish on 11/12/2014 & rated 89 points: See prior notes - I don't think this has a 10 year drinking window - really nice now and for 1-2 more years (1447 views)

Tasted by Tonythefish on 4/7/2013 & rated 92 points: A chocolate bar in a glass - and I dont even like chocolate. Smooth well rounded wine with vanilla and coffee overtones, but the chocolate comes through big time. John Caldwell success once again (2860 views)
Tasted by Jab_343434 on 2/20/2013 & rated 91 points: Great bottle of wine. Drinking well. Needs about a half hour to open up. (3027 views)

Tasted by Jasonbaker75 on 11/30/2012 & rated 100 points: I am a big fan of everything John Caldwell puts out. I saw this on the menu and I had to have it. Unfortunately at $117 a bottle I think I overpaid. That's what I get for ordering Napa wines in Texas. (2345 views)
Tasted by ltadd on 11/18/2012 & rated 85 points: Very enjoyable fruity full bodied wine (1998 views)

A full bodied kitchen sink blend, with blueberries, black currants, herbs and white pepper, finish of dusty chocolate and spice. This is the fifth vintage I have tried, all have been very good, cool bottle design. (2616 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
