Tasted by Winiac on 10/19/2020 & rated 91 points: Bouquet not very expressive but soilid fruit and structure. (990 views)
Tasted by hosscrow on 5/16/2020 & rated 92 points: Lovely perfectly aged Napa Cab.Drink now. Decant for at least an hour and serve around 64-65 degrees to highlight the freshness. Medium dark nearly opaque like the best from this varietal and region. Powerful nose with blackberry and black raspberry upfront and then nicely integrated cedar tobacco and leather. Intoxicating tertiary bouquet. Medium mouthfeel, lighter than expected for Diamond Mt. Full rich flavors of black fruits, cinnamon, coffee, medium + acidity, and interesting dusty and ripe tannins (not rough at all). Beautiful extended balanced finish. Not a powerful mouthful Napa cab. Elegant and complex. (1003 views)
Tasted by wino121 on 5/7/2019 & rated 90 points: Venturied into decant, consumed of several hours,
That said, it might be just a tad past it’s prime, seemed flat/muted fruit lacking the freshness as
one would expect from mnt fruit.
I have 2 more and will be drinking soon.

Tasted by ogres3 on 6/18/2018: Victim of a wine tasting. Very much a crowd pleaser. People very impressed with a "07 Napa Cab". The wine is enjoyable but nothing especially remarkable. (1703 views)
Tasted by ogres3 on 5/30/2018 & rated 91 points: I enjoyed this wine and would buy a case.
Gave it some air. Fairly opaque. Fairly bold on initial opening and maintains some freshness and boldness during the evening. Pleasant smooth full-bodied fruit. Good finish. Not near a 100 pointer but a very good cab. (1626 views)
Tasted by ogres3 on 4/29/2018 & rated 90 points: Gave it a couple of hours of air. Dark hues, full bodied. The missus really enjoyed. I thought the fruit was pleasant but not especially notable. Muted blue and red fruit, smooth with a decent finish. (1183 views)
Tasted by pinoteer on 8/12/2017 & rated 91 points: This wine has everything that you'd want in a moderately priced California Cab without being over the top. Everything is in balance. Great fruit with secondary flavors, and the tannins and acidity are just right to make this delicious. This is in its prime drinking window now, and is unlikely to get much better. This is an outstanding $30 wine. (1510 views)
Tasted by MagnumVi on 4/15/2016 & rated 91 points: Consumed at our Wine Club and it was the hit of the night .A very well crafted Napa Cab . Loved it (2438 views)
Tasted by Sugarb on 3/7/2016 & rated 89 points: Not as good as when it was last drunk, about 2 years ago. Fruit had lost some of its vibrancy. This may be indicative of the staying power of the '07 vintage, not as strong as first thought. Will try another bottle in the next few months to check it out. (2127 views)
Tasted by gf2182 on 12/23/2014 & rated 90 points: pretty smooth and the whole family enjoyed it .... but a little too oaky vanilla for my taste, masks too much of the fruit, but certainly not offensive (2934 views)
Tasted by mxpbuy on 5/23/2014 & rated 90 points: Black fruits, currant, leather, Oak and smooth. The wine is still young but I'm not sure how much it will improve. Enjoy now. (3492 views)
Tasted by jedwilson on 5/18/2014 & rated 93 points: A fine example of the 2007 vintage, this very affordable wine ($30) is drinking beautifully now. The flavor fills the mouth without overpowering; the finish lingers in a just right way; the tannins are at a near-perfect level. Enjoy this on a fine spring day! (3415 views)
Tasted by Sauvyfan on 3/30/2014 & rated 90 points: Dark, sexy, intense wine. Has many of the mountain fruit characteristics, but with greater depth of fruit. Much better on Night 2; tannins have softened a bit, but still obvious. (2528 views)
Tasted by mxpbuy on 11/1/2013 & rated 90 points: A bit rough when first opened but after a few hours decant it came around nicely. Plenty of backbone to these tannins. Vanilla Oak over blackberries and currant. (2889 views)
Tasted by mxpbuy on 8/16/2013 & rated 91 points: Excellent Napa value. Took about 4 hours to fully open. Wonderful blackberries, hints of red fruits, some vanilla Oak. Smooth but tannins still have some backbone. Nice full body with a 20+ second finish. (2455 views)
Tasted by hdchappy on 1/11/2013 & rated 91 points: Very good Napa Cab, even better price. Punches well above its price point. (2646 views)
Tasted by Sauvyfan on 1/5/2013 & rated 89 points: This is a really nice Cab dominated by black and red fruits. Everything about this effort is above average, but nothing exceptional. The finish shows the tannins to be a bit harsh, which is what keeps this score under 90. (2629 views)
Tasted by viking60 on 12/6/2012 & rated 88 points: Plums and cherry, cinnamon. Needs time. (3024 views)
Tasted by Noahc on 12/2/2012 & rated 89 points: Garnet with slight brick, nose has mostly oak with some cherry, fairly round without much heat and an almost glycerine feel. Palate is fairly thin at first with some blackberry, raspberry, cherry, slight cranberry, not much oak, good acidity, some sweetness followed by tartness, and smooth low tannins. A surprisingly fruity finish. To me it is not extraordinary but it is interesting. (2281 views)
Tasted by NEwino on 11/27/2012 & rated 90 points: This bottle had a ton of oak on the nose. It was a bit less prominent on the palate. This was a nice bottle that has plenty of time with a smooth fine tannin finish. The better days are ahead of this wine. Drink now to 2017 (1980 views)
Tasted by mxpbuy on 7/26/2012 & rated 91 points: Sampled 7/25/12. A really good wine and a great value. Sweet red and black fruits, some sweet Oak, dried herbs, a little green veggies and a lot is going on here. Not perfectly seemless or balanced on acidity, tannins and fruit, but it still quite good. The wine only took about 45 mintues to open. Not sure this will make it to 2020, but it can certainly be enjoyed over the next 5+ years. (1995 views)
Tasted by ikkaariainen on 6/19/2012 & rated 89 points: A very nice, fruit forward still very youthful Diamond Mtn district Napa cab enjoyed recently in the NC mountains at the Gamekeeper restaurant outside of Blowing Rock with good CT wine buddy neighborbill. Very dark, medium to full bodied, pronounced tannins and bold fruit present with enough structure left for years of further cellaring. A bit hot and one dimensional at this point and I do expect significant improvement with further aging. Right now this wine needs a lot of air, would recommend at least a 1-2 hour decant. Nose dark, bold and veru fruit forward with dark fruit, blackberry and cassis. Primary flavors included well balanced and not overdone oak, cassis, dark fruit, graphite and a surprsingly lean pleasant aftertaste. I do recommend this wine and at this price point it is a very reasonable QPR but probably just now entering a reasonable drinking window and this wine has a lot of upside left with further aging. (2252 views)
Tasted by bullmrkt on 12/27/2011 & rated 89 points: On day 1 this was hot oaky disjointed mess so we put it aside. Day 2 brought on a transformed wine. The heat and oak had subsided considerably yielding a much more integrated, smooth, if a bit simple palate. Give this some time or a very long decant. (2510 views)
Tasted by viking60 on 12/3/2011 & rated 92 points: Great acid, great plum fruit. A tad bit hot (2792 views)
Tasted by mxpbuy on 6/12/2011 & rated 90 points: Sampled 6/10/11. A nice wine that shows some good tannin structure. It'll be a few more years before this wine rounds out. The alcohol and acidity seem in balance so it be in good form for another 10+ years. Black fruits, tar, some pencil shavings and Oak are all present. Will need to come back to this reasonably priced wine in a couple years to see how it is doing. (2856 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
