Community Tasting Notes

Tasted by K is for Kate on 11/2/2012: Definitely quite dry. I think it needs the right food pairing to shine, and I didn't have one. Decent, but, for me, it could have used a bit of deliciousness. (1618 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 11/11/2011: Soapy. Actually gives me butter-flys in the tummy. Smells exactly like Irish Spring! (1920 views)

Professional 'Channels'
By Terry Theise
Terry Theise Estate Selections, 2011 German Catalog (3/1/2011)
(Müller-Catoir Riesling Trocken) ($24.00) I held this back for three hours and tasted it after the TBA (!), and it shone. Forthright Pfalz ginger and pineapple fruit aromas; dry yet almost chubby – call it “dimpled” – on the palate, but with the tautly pulled acids of ’10. Riesling in-balance but on a palate-scraping frequency.

#2014 Vintage Notes:
2014 Vintage Report by Terry Theise
2014 Vintage Report by Wine Spectator
"My gut still tells me the Saar (and to some extent) the Ruwer are better overall in 2014 than the more storied areas of the Mosel proper, but those that spent the requisite time living in their middle-Mosel vineyards made some of the most electric and "feathery" Riesling in a long time (maybe the finest in 20 years - yes, it's true!)" - Jon Rimmerman (Of course only a very short historical memory would call the Saar and Ruwer less 'storied' than the middle Mosel - jht)
