Tasted by ecola on 8/24/2013: Subtle red berry flavors with a soft earthiness that I really like. A delicate wine, better on it's own than with food. Light to medium body. Lively acidity on the finish. (4669 views)
Tasted by ToniTony on 2/14/2013 & rated 88 points: Good taste but lacking in structure; beautiful pink color (5161 views)
Tasted by crushzone on 12/16/2012 & rated 88 points: - Salmon color with medium pearls. It's somewhat balanced with a light/medium body. Narrow texture with a medium finish - Just meh. Not great, just okay. (2146 views)

Tasted by gutt22 on 6/14/2012: Very light pink. Crisp, with good acidity, as was the case in the whole Mumm lineup this day. Lightly strawberry edge to the fruit. Strong acidity. Polished texture. Good finish. A- (2755 views)
Tasted by WillersC on 2/24/2012 & rated 87 points: Smells appealing and has a decent mousse but the palate is too sweet for me. Good fun but no more than that (2033 views)
Tasted by RobSpectator on 2/22/2012 & rated 91 points: Beautiful light color
Light citrus aroma notes. Bright and crisp entry w citrus expression finishing w lemon peel and nuts (1785 views)
Tasted by mattyboy_ on 2/20/2012 & rated 88 points: Too young, needs more time. Fresh and clean though. Palate cleansing. would be perfect as amuse bouche. 88pts (1509 views)
Tasted by Martin Redmond on 10/27/2011 & rated 89 points: Tasting Sparkling Wines in Napa: Pretty light salmon color with tiny pin point bubbles, and bread dough, tangerine, and red fruit aromas. On the palate, creamy mousse with cherry, citrus, vanilla flavors, and a medium finish. 50% Chard/50% Pinot Noir. Four years on lees.

STEWARDS OF THE SOIL
Today, Mumm Napa works with more than fifty growers at each harvest. The variety in our grape sources allows us to make consistent sparkling wine every year. But more than simply the variety, it’s the quality of the fruit the farmers bring to Mumm Napa – a quality that stems from the passion they have for their work.

Many of Mumm Napa growers are multi-generational Napa Valley farmers with a deep-rooted connection to the land.

“At Mumm Napa, we like to work with people who are as passionate about farming as we are about making wine. Heritage is everything to our Growers.”
– Ludovic Dervin.

“This year, 2014, will be my family’s 111th harvest in Napa Valley. No one truly owns the land; we are all just stewards of the soil.”
– Andy Hoxsey, Napa Valley Grower

“Mumm Napa makes a great product that really represents our hard work in the vineyards. It is important to pick the right winery partner to ensure that our great quality fruit is being made into a great quality wine.”
– Gianciarlo Bettinelli, Napa Valley Grower

“We have been grape growing for Mumm Napa for over fifteen years. They appreciate our long-term commitment to the land, and we appreciate their long-term commitment to making quality wine.”
– Julie Nord, Napa Valley Grower

Champagne Blend

"Champagne blend" is a classic grape blend that typically includes Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and/or Pinot Meunier in any proportions.

However, this blend can also include Arbane, Fromenteau (Pinot Gris), Petit Meslier and/or Pinot Blanc as well.

DVX Rosé

The DVX designation on Mumm Napa sparkling wine is a tribute to Guy Devaux, the Senior Winemaker at G. H. Mumm. Guy Devaux was in charge of starting up the Napa operation. The DVX sparkling wines are a blend of carefully chosen grapes from a small number of lots (out of Mumm Napa's total of 90 lots across 50 vineyards).

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
