Tasted by Clumsy_Mike on 2/6/2015 & rated 82 points: Manque de fraicheur, d'acidite (5494 views)
Tasted by Tigg on 2/1/2015 & rated 88 points: This blend is a big wine that's fine against strong, meaty food. Moderately long finish. Not a lot of nuance. (5156 views)
Tasted by Awilshinsky on 1/23/2015: I enjoyed it. Had a nice berry taste with an overwhelming whiff of Vanilla (5137 views)
Tasted by asher on 10/24/2014 & rated 87 points: I love this wine! (4967 views)
Tasted by Basicallyjones on 5/18/2014 & rated 83 points: Sweet and syrupy. Good for those who like sweet, jammy wines; nothing special in any way and lacks complexity (6301 views)
Tasted by merryberry on 2/3/2014 & rated 82 points: Sappy, sweet, mass market pablum. Could use more acid for balance. (2843 views)
Tasted by Cgallivan on 1/13/2014 & rated 85 points: Very ho hum...don't care if I have it again. Forgettable, dark fruit and boring finish...better wines out there in $14-20 category. (3016 views)
Tasted by Kesslerc14 on 11/21/2013 & rated 88 points: This is a beautiful blend of dark red fruits. Each sip left me wanting another, which was a testimate to the fruit, the smoothness, and the perfect level of tannins. It was a little sweeter than I was expecting, but it was still a deliious wine. (3479 views)
Tasted by Woodbridge Brad on 11/5/2013 & rated 84 points: Dark red color and very ripe berry notes with a strong note of port and not overly oaky, the wine is somewhat balanced. Definate RS and slightly tannic, it is very smooth and easy to drink despite 14.5% alcohol. Not really a great value at close $20, it still is a decent semisweet red. (3636 views)
Tasted by vinelines on 10/30/2013 & rated 88 points: Don't let the screw top fool you. We loved this with some Beechers cheese at the end of a long day. (2719 views)
Tasted by Bobbo29 on 9/4/2013 & rated 80 points: big, hot, over-ripe stewy fruit, no backbone, no structure. Pity, the white Conundrum is quite enjoyable (3132 views)
 Tasted by mrcard3 on 8/6/2013 & rated 100 points: I loved it~~ (3512 views)
Tasted by 1sophrosyne1 on 8/6/2013 & rated 72 points: Deep dark staining purple. Really staining the glass here! Big clumsy nose full of overripe blueberry, strawberry, and sugary flowers. Scents marking cabernet in the blend also come through. On the palate it is very juicy, warm and heavy. All the fruit clashes with bell pepper. Smoke and leather fight to be sensed, but they cannot rebalance this weak impersonation of port. Cooling it down doesn't tighten it up properly or contain the gangly sweetness. And the tannin backbone isn't likely to support aging. A reasonable degree of effort appears to have been misspent. (And I'm surprised to have to say this, because I enjoy the white counterpart very much.) However, if you get stuck with an impression similar to mine along with a substantial amount remaining, this red can be the starting point for a nice sangria. (2821 views)
Tasted by Varnerhome on 8/5/2013 & rated 81 points: Fruity candy (2748 views)
Tasted by KendraPM on 7/16/2013 & rated 88 points: Tastes like merlot (2903 views)
Tasted by winestlouis on 6/14/2013 & rated 88 points: Juicy and easy to enjoy!

Deep beautiful ruby with loads of purple. Really staining the glass here! Great nose: floral, loads of ripe dark berry, blue berry too. On the palate, this is juicy, warm and fully body. Bright fruit, blue berry, cherry, carmel. Loaded with juicy ripe fruit juice. Dripping with juiciness. I'm sure technical tasters will find it fruit bombed, not varietal specific, inflated for something else. But for me, this thing is fun in a bottle. (2878 views)
Tasted by Jreese on 6/4/2013 & rated 87 points: Fruit forward (2761 views)
Tasted by Isdaddy on 6/1/2013 & rated 85 points: Ok for what it is: a big, rich, sweet, fruit bomb. (2627 views)
Tasted by gharbour on 5/6/2013 & rated 84 points: Super fruit and semi sweet. Probably a crowd pleaser. Not serious. (2923 views)
Tasted by Zbear on 5/4/2013 & rated 80 points: Mostly what I do not care for in a red. And it was sickeningly sweet. (2910 views)
Tasted by kleng on 5/2/2013 & rated 83 points: Really candied fruit bomb, for me unpleasant. Other than the sweetness it's not bad, has a smooth mouthfeel, but not for me. (2466 views)
Tasted by VinoLoversRus on 4/13/2013 & rated 80 points: Ultimate fruit bomb / the intense dark cherry overpowered this wine. It got progressively sweeter as we finished the bottle. (2761 views)
Tasted by InvernessHighlander on 3/31/2013 & rated 88 points: Lots of red fruit up front. Interwoven bright and bold cherries and a little plum , soft tannins and a tiny hint of sweetness gives it a memorable finish. Smooth and round. (1497 views)
Tasted by OlegE on 3/29/2013 & rated 91 points: It has fantastic, blowing away flavor. After opening the bottle flavor has cloudy, almost palpable intensity, with perfume concentration and quality. It was too sharp and strong and powerful for anything I associate with wine, but it was very pleasant, almost addictive. Only next day it start resembling usual wines - a class of fruit bomb. Sweet blackberry, cassis, grape, very concentrated. Pleasant acidity, taste like a fruit punch - but a very good one. Not a lot of body. Not my style of wine, but it is extraordinary. (2943 views)
Tasted by merryberry on 3/21/2013 & rated 84 points: Intensely dark, like a Petite Sirah. Not a lot on the nose - spicy oak, blueberry jam, and leather. Medium bodied, highly extracted cranberries and cherries, baking spices, dusty tannins, soy sauce, and a puckering finish. Well made for the mass market product it is, but ultimately not for me. Probably a great wine to take to a party, which I think I'll do with my other bottle. (2818 views)

Conundrum Wines

Producer website

Starting in 2001, the white wine formerly known as Caymus Conundrum was spun off to a separate winery, Conundrum Wines. So there are two different wine definitions depending upon your vintage:

* 2000 and earlier: Caymus Conundrum
* 2001 and later: Conundrum Wines

Red Blend

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
