Thoughtful wine pulls you in rather than pushing back. Most excellent (1369 views) | | Tasted by Mr T on 3/13/2016: Still going strong Good acid, great fruit Pure pleasure Price is high but terrific wine (1476 views) | | Tasted by domco on 9/17/2015: Last of the '11's for us. Still delicious but feels like the fruit is starting to fade just a tiny bit. I'd drink up and move on to the 12's and '13's :) (1705 views) | | Tasted by Weston3220 on 6/23/2015 & rated 91 points: Fantastic aauv blanc from napa, rich fruit , quality is 100% noticablw, its passion fruit deliciousness (2032 views) | | Tasted by domco on 10/29/2014: Still our favorite Sauv Blanc. I could spend days with my nose in the glass. The peach notes are amazing. (2227 views) | | Tasted by Mlermontov on 6/14/2014 & rated 92 points: Eric's Birthday at La Vigna: amazing nose. funky, blue cheese, currants, mid full of peach and sweet fruit, medium finish, fully dry and refreshing. good acidity. The nose is by far the best i have seen on a SB. very good wine and manages to stay refreshing and balanced. Still the most outstanding Sauvignon Blanc I've had from napa (1534 views) | | Tasted by Weston3220 on 11/14/2013: Tropical passion fruit goodness (1399 views) | | Tasted by Chuck C on 11/14/2013 & rated 94 points: Extraordinary! I could just smell this wine and be happy. I'm not a big expert (obviously), but this is the best white wine I've ever had. The peach and apricots on the nose are truly amazing. Drinking it is almost a letdown; but it's still very good. (1495 views) | | Tasted by Eric Guido on 6/2/2013 & rated 93 points: The nose was beautiful, showing fresh citrus tinged green notes of herbs and field grasses, ripe stone fruit backed by a hint of undergrowth with an intense mineral core. On the palate it was elegant with silky textures, just the slightest touch of oak ushering in melon and citrus notes with a hint of herbs. The finish left me wanting more, as it's well integrated acidity made the mouth water to notes of ripe melon with a zest of orange. This is easily one of my favorite vintages and reaffirms my belief, that this may be the best Sauvignon Blanc coming out of Napa Valley. | Larkmead Vineyards Producer websiteSauvignon Blanc Varietal CharacterUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Napa Valley Napa Valley Wineries and Wine (Napa Valley Vintners)Napa ValleySt. Helena |
