Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 88 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 7 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by Cote d'Or on 9/29/2018: PopnPour, tasted over 3 hrs
-dark red minimal edge clearing
-expressive jammy cassis and red berry
-med/med- acidity, med- weight though fairly expansive palate with faded dark berry bitter earth licorice, med chewy tannins and decent length
-decently complex and drinking well now, no longer fruit forward but still with quite a bit of life left in this bottle (350 views)
Tasted by Justinneal654 on 9/17/2017 & rated 83 points: Nose is open and light with a fresh garden fell. Tastes of unripe blueberries with a hint of tartness along with the bell pepper edge and vegetal qualities I was looking for.

Finish is tannic and dry with an acidic flourish at the end.

A low quality but satisfying representative of French cab franc (410 views)
Tasted by Saxman1984 on 1/19/2016: A very nice well balanced Cabernet franc This is a non-spoofed wine and will appeal to those who like Baudry or Olga Raffault (890 views)
Tasted by Cote d'Or on 10/20/2015: PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs
-nearly opaque med dark red no bricking
-dusty, juicy black grape, faint undertone of candied raspberry and floral give way to a stony minerality
-surprisingly low profile with little acidity, med- weight but soft almost plush mouthfeel envelopes the palate with somewhat simple but rather deep earthiness and black licorice and abundant fine-grained tannins, slight medicinal quality on the average length finish
-pleasant and very interesting, has soul, suspect this has a few years of upside before peaking, nice value (988 views)
Tasted by Al Doughty on 3/4/2015 & rated 91 points: Rich and powerful dusty aromas of ripe blackcurrant, earth and game. The intensity of the nose follows through on the surprisingly structured palate which is loaded with flavors of candied blackcurrant, tobacco, dried herbs and black olive. Mouth drying tannin perfectly compliment the ripeness of the fruit, as more serious notes of leather, cacao and black tea come through on an impressively lengthy finish. (880 views)
Tasted by KeithAkers on 3/4/2015 & rated 90 points: Nose: The nose is well balanced and fragrant with red cherries, bell pepper, leather, earth, herbs, and roses. The red fruit notes are slightly more pronounced, but not necessarily ripe.

Taste: Medium bodied with medium+ acidity and silky tannins. The tannins emerge more with air along with a silky feel and red cherries, bell peppers, herbs, red fruits, and some earth.

Overall: This is a lovely Cab Franc. It's well balanced and shows a slightly riper side, but with elegance too. (1244 views)
Tasted by henrygjeffreys on 3/15/2013: n - summer pudding, serious, concentrated
rich, medium-bodied, lowish acidity, quite modern tasting (970 views)
