Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 85.4 pts. and median of 87 pts. in 19 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by UpfromtheCellar on 6/4/2015 & rated 85 points: Balanced but juicy juicy. A little less fruit and a little more "starch" would make this into a much better wine. As it is, a low cost blender designed to move some bulk at a decent profit. Sure keeps the lights on and the ROI within bounds, but this is not the stuff of reputation. (2919 views)
 Tasted by BoireBio on 4/17/2015 & rated 73 points: 14,5/20. * * 1/2
Visuel: rouge cerise
Olfactif: fruité, net. Petits fruits
Gustatif: attaque sucrée, gouleyant, belle note d'acidité? C'est bon mais le sucre et l'alcool risquent d'écœurer à la longue
Ensemble: nettement pas mon type de vin.... (2876 views)
Tasted by CJM on 12/29/2014 & rated 76 points: Clear garnet. Fig, cranberry, blueberry. Slightly sweet,,no acids, no tannins. Lychee. Short balanced finish. (3103 views)
Tasted by appleforest on 12/12/2014 & rated 83 points: The usual CA red blend style. Not exciting, not offensive. If under $10, it's fine. (3193 views)
Tasted by Spajnky on 11/5/2014 & rated 87 points: Nice mix of red varieties. Full bodied with nice berry smell (3307 views)
Tasted by CameronSumpter on 7/6/2014 & rated 87 points: I've noticed a fair bit of variation with this particular blend (within vintage). The first bottle was absolutely superb, easily 93 pts. (arguably 95 pts.); each since has been a disappointment, as low as 84 pts. Overall, I'd consider it worth a try at 87 pts. as full-bodied with flavours of dark fruit, though Raymond's Lot No. 3 Cabernet may prove more palatable. (1162 views)
Tasted by Winegirl1959 on 2/22/2014 & rated 85 points: Nice, but no real depth. Great for the price. (1306 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
