Excellent balance of acidity and fruit character. (568 views) | | Tasted by mseeber on 11/12/2017 & rated 87 points: A good American Riesling that certainly deserves a look. Dry and flavorful. Not as mineral as I enjoy but a well made wine (443 views) | | Tasted by Bozekt on 11/1/2017 & rated 88 points: Very nice. Cool climate aromas of green apple and pear with a slight bit of white peach and petrol. Palate is lean and has a zippy acidity, green apple, white peach, and (in a good way) kerosene wisps. Moderate alcohol and complexity with medium minus body. Went great with sushi and Chinese food! (1092 views) | | Tasted by Heynetty on 2/8/2017 & rated 90 points: Pale lemon. NOSE: Medium intensity on the nose. Petroleum and peach jumps out first. There is green apple here too. PALATE: Pétillance. Dry. Peach and peach stone (a modicum of bitterness), honey, peach blossom, petroleum (more subtle than recent German Rieslings that i have had), green apple, grapefruit and tapioca pudding (others call this honeycomb aroma) and some stoney minerality (only noticed this after someone pointed it out but now i taste it with every sip). Acid is medium (+), body is medium which surprises me. Somehow expected something with less weight. The alcohol is medium (12%) and i think this is a beauty. Its balanced, long finish, medium (+) intensity and surprisingly complex. I think its very good to excellent quality and would rate it 90 points.
Would certainly buy again. Excellent QPR. $14/bottle. This is a real find. JTH and CEH think its just a delicious as I do. Will send a bottle home with CEH and definitely thinking of buying some Malaysian food to have with this.
Drink now but i reckon this could last a year or two longer. That acidity and fruit is encouraging. (1340 views) | | Tasted by bjschmitt on 12/17/2016 & rated 90 points: Served with skillet chicken poblano enchiladas. Clear light gold with a bit of effervescence. Nose: peach, very clean. Apricot/peach on palate, nice fruit. Dry but not austere. This wine worked (surprisingly) very well with the peppers in the enchiladas (poblano and serrano) - provided a beautiful balance. Nice finish. (1389 views) | | Tasted by jkvedar on 8/15/2016 & rated 89 points: A fine finger lakes Riesling! Peach is dominant on the nose. Apricot, lemon lime, on the palate . Great balance of fruit, acidity. Minerality shows through on the palate. (1492 views) | | Tasted by Caligrrl on 8/5/2016: I wish I'd bought a case of this, it's perfect with Asian food (1452 views) | | Tasted by aajder on 10/6/2015 & rated 88 points: The nose is accessible, showing aromas of white flowers, peach, citrus and minerals. This is light bodied on the palate with good concentration and a fair bit of class. The medium plus length finish features brisk acidity and a strong mineral element. (1544 views) | | Tasted by Carl-Eric on 9/19/2015 & rated 89 points: Citrusy, minerally. Very nice bottle. Good to drink now (1332 views) | | Tasted by Patrickmcw on 8/11/2015 & rated 89 points: Minerally, chalky nose. Citrusy, grapefruit. Solid wine and great price. Would pair well with some pork or fish. (1624 views) | | Tasted by Benj on 8/8/2015 & rated 88 points: Convincing dry Riesling at a good price. Rather good focus and minerality. Clean nose, well-made wine. $17. (1127 views) | | Tasted by aajder on 7/26/2015 & rated 89 points: Lovely color. The nose is pure and classy, showing citrus, apple, white flowers, orange blossom and minerals. This is light bodied on the palate, with very good concentration and real class. The medium plus length finish features a serious mineral element. (1194 views) | | Tasted by brooklynwine on 7/10/2015 & rated 90 points: Enjoyed this bottle a great deal. Drank over several days. Initially, it appeared a bit closed and simple but over the following 2 days it really opened up. Nose: Lanolin, petrol mixed with notes of lemon Pledge. Palate: crisp with good weight/ viscosity and minerality. Def. more lemon peel and a bit of pineapple. Medium+ finish. Day 1: 88; Day 2 & 3: 90 - 91 Nice buy (877 views) | | Tasted by Sourdough on 4/3/2015 & rated 89 points: Nice acidic summer white lots of acid. Fresh. Complex. Nice (1306 views) | | Tasted by cos65 on 3/22/2015: Boerne wine club - New York: pale straw. light petrol, lime aromas. aggressively bone dry with tart green apple flavors. A bit out of balance, seeming, but interesting (1119 views) | | Tasted by GTFreek on 3/9/2015: Blind tasted. A little nondescript, harder to pull things of. I guessed Pinot Grigio. (1158 views) | | Tasted by winedr on 11/28/2014 & rated 90 points: Very good. Would buy again. (790 views) | | Tasted by tko on 10/12/2014 & rated 87 points: Pretty straightforward but enjoyable and food friendly. Heavy on the stone fruits, a little spice and minerals, nice balance and mouthfeel. (1304 views) | | Only displaying the 25 most recent notes - click to see all notes for this wine... |
| Dr. Konstantin Frank Producer websiteRiesling Varietal character (Appellation America) | A short history of Riesling (Uncork) | Riesling (wikipedia)USAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.New York Uncork New York!
