Tasted by corkscrews on 2/18/2023 & rated 93 points: A big nose of red fruits and spices, dark garnet in color. A medium to full bodied red blend, with black cherry, plum, tea and chocolate and spices on long finish. In a great drinking zone, was very good. www.winelx.com (422 views)
Tasted by grapegalore on 12/5/2021 & rated 91 points: Big bold and delicious drinking well right now. Decanted and drank over several hours as it opened up more and more. Smooth nicely balanced strawberry, dark cherry, earthy notes with soft tannins and silky mouth feel. Really enjoyed with charcuterie and then duck breast. (690 views)
Tasted by wiscgrad on 9/13/2020 & rated 92 points: tasty new world cab blend. good fruit and seamless tannin. oak and vanilla are pretty evident on the finish. Maybe a bit overpriced, but that is all relative. (1114 views)
Tasted by biegs on 6/14/2020 & rated 94 points: Drinking really well right now with lots of fruit and a long finish. (1170 views)
Tasted by RDHudak on 12/26/2019 flawed bottle: Slightly corked, but drinkable. This seemed to have potential, but it TCA killed it. (1493 views)
Tasted by John O' on 2/1/2019 & rated 95 points: 1 hour decant. Fantastic (2015 views)
Tasted by BeansTheDestroyer on 1/28/2019 & rated 96 points: Wonderfully smooth now. (1676 views)
Tasted by ecola on 12/23/2018 & rated 92 points: Takes about an hour to open up. Oak and vanilla dominate on pop n pour. Evoles with air to reveal red cherry and blackberry with the toasty spice in the background. Rich mouthfeel with just enough acidity to hold the balance. Moderate length finish with integrated tannins. Drink now or over the next few years. (1495 views)
Tasted by llama81 on 12/23/2018 & rated 93 points: Big hype from Gary, but this delivered and then some, huge color, huge nose, huge fruit, pleasantly powerful, drank on its own, but would have stood up to steak or pasta, all of the juicy fruit you could ever imagine, with enough backbone to remind you that it’s a serious wine, at the cost would have never taken the leap on my own, but so happy it showed up on our doorstep (1552 views)
Tasted by WineGold on 1/21/2017 & rated 92 points: Popped, poured two glasses, decanted the rest. Medium purple in the glass. Lue fruit, cassis, violets on the nose. Palate is deep and interesting. Red, blue AND a touch of black fruit. Mouthfeel is grippy but tannin is well integrated with the fruit. Ready to drink after 30-60 minute decant. Feminine wine, with structure and depth. (2464 views)
Tasted by WineGold on 5/21/2016 & rated 93 points: Consistent notes with previous tastings. Served outdoors with burgers from the grill. Pleasant, nice fruit, medium body, not a huge wine, but a nice, feminine Cabernet. Very enjoyable to all who had it. Not memorable, but quite nice. (2009 views)
Tasted by mliszt on 2/24/2016 & rated 94 points: give it just 20-30 minutes and it will reward. balanced no after taste a fine blend (1824 views)
Tasted by Mike Dildine on 1/20/2016 & rated 92 points: 14.6% abv. This is a somewhat unorthodox blend of cab (85%), Malbec, Petit Verdot and Syrah.

Medium-dark ruby. Very deep and expressive claret aromas. Cassis, cigar box, spice and a touch of leather. Excellent depth and length. Very approachable and enjoyable now, should improve over the next decade. (1870 views)
Tasted by WineGold on 12/20/2015 & rated 88 points: Tasted with a lineup of pure breed Cabernets, including Outpost True Cabernet, Mending Wall, and Chappellet Signature Cab, so not really a fair group for this wine to be in.

We found it completely not ready to drink, which is not a surprise. Mostly, vegetal and tannic. Fruit didn't really come through even hours after opening. We tasted this a month ago, and I would have given it a 91 or so, and bought half a case on the spot.

I think this will get back to a 91, maybe 92 given another year or two. (1827 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
