Tasted by Dirtywineglass on 4/15/2017 & rated 84 points: Tenth bottle of case, been drinking this since Fall 2015. Keep as a house wine. Haven't had in about 3 months and this particular bottle tastes as though it has fallen off. The fruit was almost completely gone and there was overpowering oak. Storage in climate stable cellar.  Tasted by Colorado3G on 1/27/2017 & rated 89 points: Some friends turned us onto this and I guess you can call this Pine Ridge's value red - but nicely done! Very nice at this price point. Did not decant, but perhaps it could help - but enjoyed this with Lamb Chops. I would purchase again! (2357 views)
Tasted by laxman on 3/27/2016 & rated 89 points: Tasty, but too pricey ($17) for a forgettable wine. According to the label this is a blend of various cabernets (Napa/Lake County/Sonoma), but tastes more like a generic, if perfectly enjoyable, red blend. My preference in party priced/styled wine is something with zin. Not a re-buy. (3307 views)
Tasted by MC2 Wines on 2/8/2016: Part of a 3 wine Cabernet flight (with one being a Cab Franc) that I tried at Vino Volo. Apparently this wine is the crowd favorite which I can understand - it's very fruit forward and more on the jammy side. Everything is ripe and accessible and the way it tasted when first poured is the same way it tasted after it had been in the glass for a bit. For me, it was over the top and my least favorite of the group. (3143 views)
Tasted by Parnelli on 1/23/2016 & rated 91 points: This was tasting extremely good compared to the previous 2 bottles. While enjoying the meal with this wine, we both looked at each other which means, 'This is really good!'. Dark fruit on the nose and palate, there's a wonderful integration of dark fruit, nice oak and tannins, which makes a great, balanced wine. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice! (3043 views)
Tasted by alabunka on 1/10/2016 & rated 87 points: definitely a fruit bomb but still refreshing...14.8% alc... (1322 views)
Tasted by Parnelli on 12/20/2015 & rated 89 points: Nice wine for the price. It delivers those cab characteristics we all like - dark fruit, a little vanilla and balanced tannins. Very enjoyable. (1109 views)
Tasted by bernie.boehnlein@gmail.com on 11/25/2015 & rated 88 points: A little overly alcohol forward at first, but as it opened up it mellowed and came forward with some nice berry notes and a smoother finish. A good sub $20 Cabernet. (562 views)
Tasted by Griffeyfan04 on 10/20/2015 & rated 90 points: Extremely extremely ripe and voluptuous. This wine makes no bones about it that it is a full wine. A hint of sweetness and freshness that borders on over the top even for me and I like 'em rich but someohow keeps it together to make it a fun wine. I would drink this young because I don't see it developing into anything special but enjoy it now for what it's worth (602 views)
Tasted by jdseybold on 7/4/2015 & rated 88 points: spicy at first, nice finish, little peppery. good value Cab blend. (839 views)
Tasted by RockinCabs on 4/19/2015 & rated 87 points: Sweet and confected dark fruit with chocolate, oak and some allspice. Back to the wines of mere mortals with Sunday lunch by the glass. (1078 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
