Tasted by nvexplorer on 10/28/2008 & rated 90 points: Outstanding may be a slight exaggeration, but excellent is praise too faint. For me, my first experience with SIMI sauvignon blanc, but it will not be my last. Heartily recommend.

Nicely balanced with 65% acidity 35% sweetness, crisp, clean fruit flavors, a rich mouth feel, grass and grapefruit aroma.

Excellent pairing with light fruit and chicken salad, with sun dried tomato crackers. (2128 views)
Tasted by cassel on 1/26/2008 & rated 85 points: Complex but not any zing (2256 views)
Tasted by cassel on 1/6/2008 & rated 84 points: More complex than other SB (2264 views)
Tasted by jyau on 7/19/2007 & rated 91 points: It was just as good as the last one and it went well with the fondue. (2547 views)
Tasted by pjtiern on 7/14/2007 & rated 91 points: Still our favorite SB. Great on a warm night with tapas. (2589 views)

Tasted by pjtiern on 5/14/2007 & rated 87 points: Nice on a warm day. Lots of citrus, but not overpowering. Best well chilled. (1399 views)
Tasted by pjtiern on 4/21/2007 & rated 91 points: Great fruit forward nose, love the citrus, nice long finish. Will buy more. (1334 views)
Tasted by nubbin on 4/8/2007 & rated 88 points: I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this Sauv. Blanc. It has a generous, silky mouth feel, soft citrus notes, and just the right amount of acidity on the finish. We enjoyed it with a simple arugula salad and smoked trout and it was just right. (D6.5, F 6; Cent) (1521 views)
Tasted by jyau on 2/13/2007 & rated 92 points: Light citrus flavor with hint of vanilla. Very smooth and easy on the palate. Very drinkable alone and probably fairly good with subtly flavor cheese. (1481 views)
Tasted by pjtiern on 1/3/2007 & rated 91 points: Very drinkable. Smooth. Light citrus flavor. Great finsih. Definitely on my re-purchase list (1478 views)

Varietal Character

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
