On the palate, some cocoa and chocolate, but the finish was short and thin, didn't last very long at all. Wouldn't be good much longer, I don't think. '98 - not the best vintage, but the wine still had character. First sight very nice and dark, thick and smelled wonderful, first taste was full and rich, mayby black cherry, currants, a little dry but long finish, looking forwand to tasting from the decanter.
