Not impressed. (1242 views) | | Tasted by markjahnke on 6/1/2008 & rated 82 points: Tonight, Pam used this to make Bellini's, and it was absolutely perfect. Why use a good bottle of Champagne or sparkling wine when it is going to be mixed? A taste of the bubbly before hand revealed typical Chardonnay aromas, of sweet citrus, lemon, lime, and a hint of mint. The palate revealed more lemon and citrus flavors, with the faintest hint of pineapple and green apple. For under $8, this is a good sparkling to use as a mixer for your favorite bubbly cocktail. Pam made the Bellini's tonight with a nice strawberry nectar, with fresh cut strawberries and raspberries. Needless to say, this was the perfect summer sipper on a beautiful first of June. As for the sparkling itself, I would rate it at 82 points, and would say that it is a good QPR. Will definitely buy again to use for sparkling wine based cocktails! | Barefoot Cellars Producer websiteChardonnay BlendGrenacheUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson CaliforniaNapa Valley.http://www.stagecoachvineyard.com/vineyards/our_vineyards.php Santa Ynez.http://www.everyvine.com/org/Camp_Four/vineyard/Camp_Four/ |
