Tasted by SPfromTX on 5/13/2020 & rated 87 points: interesting. Lot if wood and oak and vanilla, adds a touch of sweetness from the whiskey. A bit boozy on finish. Probably better with food. (1585 views)
Tasted by Huskergz on 2/23/2020: Very good, taste hints of pepper (1763 views)
Tasted by Toryvalben on 2/21/2020 & rated 90 points: Tasty. Sweet edged, plum. I don't get boozy notes, not hints of wood, almost vanilla. (860 views)
Tasted by NapaCabSavLover on 11/20/2019: Different but not bad for what it is. Opened up nicely with a bit of bourbon burn (901 views)
Tasted by NapaCabSavLover on 11/20/2019: Not bad for what it is. Fruity with a bit of pop after it opens up (1276 views)
Tasted by ChiefChairman on 9/29/2019 & rated 64 points: Dark red and strong. Could be ok with dessert, but not my style (1055 views)
Tasted by libro64 on 8/11/2019 & rated 88 points: Perfect for SANGRIA! The guests loved it (989 views)
Tasted by CalimerosDad on 7/14/2019 & rated 88 points: Interessanter Ansatz mit den Whisky-Fässern. Ganz eigener Geschmack. (1009 views)
Tasted by Pick up Betty on 4/25/2019: High alcohol content - not a weeknight wine. Can definitely taste the sweetness of the whiskey. (1023 views)
Tasted by njerisaidhi on 4/1/2019 & rated 90 points: First taste is a bit harsh, but it's straight up delicious after that. (1076 views)
Tasted by gajalaa on 3/23/2019 & rated 87 points: I could smell and taste the whiskey. This was very strong, I passed out right after dinner (1009 views)
Tasted by Kustjagr on 2/9/2019 & rated 81 points: People say that you can smell and taste the whiskey. And you can. You really can. Hard to pinpoint the broad set of aromas, other than as a hint of whiskey. Really. Not bad per se, but not sure that this is the way either. And I normally like unusual wines. This one ... well ... I suppose it turns on whether you like whiskey or wine. With 16% alcohol and a whiskey first taste, this is not red wine. Not sure what it is. An alcoholic hybrid beverage of some type?

EDIT: Second day, still a strong whiskey taste. Not impressed. (1018 views)
Tasted by Central Coast Wino on 2/4/2019: Just awful. Stewed raisins, cough syrup, candied cherries, and a whole bunch of other awful things that never should come together in wine. Undrinkable. (974 views)
Tasted by Crons79 on 12/31/2018 & rated 100 points: I liked it. Not as strong or overpowering as I thought it might be. I would drink it again. (993 views)
Tasted by GrannyDot on 12/8/2018 & rated 54 points: Wonderful aroma. Taste whiskey barrel in front and end. Too dry for me in middle. Headache next day... (961 views)
Tasted by JackLocatelli on 11/15/2018 & rated 75 points: I love how a lot of beers have ventured out into using whiskey barrels. But wines are something that are hit and miss. When I first tried this wine, the whiskey flavor was overpowering. I'll take the blame for that. Not letting it aerate before consumption was a mistake. Given the impact of the barrels, I would give it at least an hour if not a little more. The second glass was much better than the first. I liked the taste as the bottle grew leaner. Perfect match for a flank steak and the regular fixings on the side. This is a bottle I would pick up again. (1036 views)
Tasted by Chef419 on 10/26/2018 & rated 87 points: This limited release red blend is aged in whiskey barrels for 60 days.
Upon the first whiff you are hit with a smokey whiskey aroma followed by dark red and blue fruits.
On the palate, you get red and dark fruit flavors along with hints of maple and spice. (933 views)
Tasted by Willardjackson on 7/10/2018 & rated 89 points: I didn’t love the 2015, my Fiancé and her family did. However, the 2016 seems a little more put together and less harsh bite.

We bought a couple bottles so we’ll see if my opinion changes after we have another. (1046 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
