| Community Tasting Notes (average 83.8 pts. and median of 84 pts. in 8 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by Snoman on 4/26/2010 & rated 87 points: On the simple side, but great warm-weather stone fruit flavors with a hint of minerality and a touch of acidity. Easy-drinking and very enjoyable. (2994 views) | | Tasted by Rossodio on 9/2/2008 & rated 86 points: Textbook, but nothing spectacular. If you can find this wine for under $10, grab a bottle. It illustrates well Viognier's characteristic minerality, spice (think white pepper), and florality on the nose; balanced mineraly acidity on the palate, with decent weight on the midpalate (though not quite up to snuff with the great Viogniers out there); and a clean finish that is well-rounded (not razor sharp like a Sauv blanc from CA, mind you, but a bit rounder). Easy drinking and nice. (3246 views) | | Tasted by nubbin on 4/27/2008 & rated 86 points: Classic French Viognier at a resonable price. Good fruit and floral with a touch of creaminess. (D 6, F 6.5; Cent., MSW) (3413 views) | | Tasted by vinole on 10/23/2007 & rated 83 points: A rather thin, uninteresting wine, whose best attribute is a nice floral nose and entry, which then loses substance on the mid palate and on the finish. Notes of green apples with a tart, slightly metallic finish. Sort of like a floral version of average pinot grigio. (3578 views) |
