| Community Tasting Notes (average 93 pts. and median of 93 pts. in 2 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by tomlee on 3/2/2024 & rated 94 points: Light crimson in color. 14.6% ABV. From Pauline’s Vineyard and Timber Crest Farms. Pretty nose of red fruits, baking spices and earth. Light to medium body with exquisite acidity. Elegant, Claret style Zinfandel. Cherry, strawberry, plum and pepper on the palate. The finish is long and supple. Delicious Zinfandel and one of the best Dry Creek Zins in recent memory. Drink over the next 2-4 years (316 views) | | Tasted by air guitar & pinot noir on 1/21/2024 & rated 92 points: Wildcard Sunday wine with football, snow and contentment. I always enjoy this offering from Papapietro because it is not jammy or overly fruit, but offers structure and flavor that is more savory. It is a bit tight on opening but unfolds with a bit of time in the glass. Not heavy or brooding, but medium weight. Red fruit predominates with some dark undertones. (212 views) |

In addition, they produce a limited amount of Chardonnay. Zinfandel ZAP: Zinfandel Advocates & Producers | Varietal character (Appellation America) | Wikipedia-ZinfandelUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Sonoma CountyMendocino CountyDry Creek Valley Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley | Dry Creek Valley Association | Appellation America | San Francisco Chronicle Article |
