Tasted by redz on 9/1/2017 & rated 89 points: Found neglected in my cellar. Aging has been good, fairly mellowed, but still has some tannins and more time. (3047 views)
Tasted by Millennial Drinkers on 4/30/2017 & rated 80 points: Medium to light garnet red. Very impressed for being ten years old. Nose is coated in brown sugar and more baking spices with a bit of anise and red berries. Quite a bit of acidity and lots of raisins. Medium to short finish. Drink if you have it. (4021 views)

Tasted by Vinvinon on 12/1/2012 & rated 89 points: Surprisingly delicious! This likely benefited from a couple of years in the cellar. Though still fruity and flavourful, there was some smoke and pepper that provided balance to what may earlier have been a jammy or overly fruity zin. Overall, balanced wine with smooth tannins, and a nice medium-to-long finish that made for easy drinking. I recommend letting your bottle sit for a couple of years to really enjoy it. (7755 views)
Tasted by kenhud on 9/24/2012 & rated 85 points: Fruity and peppery. Warm and somewhat mineral. Beautiful dark reddish purple color with fruity nose. Not real big in the mouth. (7824 views)

Tasted by cab blends on 4/21/2012 & rated 87 points: Blind home wine tasting with MOT Scoring sheet - Zins with Cab & Tempranillo: Dark red with a delicious caramel nose - very enticing and reminded me of the great Australian Velvet Glove Shiraz nose. Unfortunately the body does not live up to the introduction and is average. (4379 views)
Tasted by Joegish on 1/19/2012 & rated 88 points: Far exceeded my expectations. Was actually rather delicious and I would definitely buy again versus some zins at much loftier prices. Very jammy. (4782 views)

Tasted by suburbanfrog on 11/28/2011 & rated 86 points: Nice fruit and pleasant to drink. (4682 views)
Tasted by Guyc on 11/27/2011 & rated 88 points: Definitely settling into an 88, always a pleasure to drink, not as full bodies as many Lodi natives but like Starbucks, it's consistent and won't let you down.. Not to mention the great name :-) (4551 views)
Tasted by anaugle on 10/16/2011 & rated 82 points: Sweet on the front-end, turning to sour on the back. (5333 views)
Tasted by SJchris on 10/4/2011: This bottle was a little past its prime. Lots of plum and raisin. (5231 views)
Tasted by kreuter on 9/10/2011: Excellent (401 views)
Tasted by hubas on 9/3/2011 & rated 84 points: A strong and berry filled aroma, quite a lot of oak and liquourice in the attack. The wine is missing a little bit to balance the rather strong alcohol. Feels a little bit unfocused. (5392 views)
Tasted by kmicho on 7/30/2011 & rated 89 points: Has grown great with age. Too bad we don't have a few more bottles of the 2007 because it just keeps getting better. (5792 views)
Tasted by whdigital on 6/5/2011 & rated 84 points: One of my all time favorites for the $! (6979 views)
Tasted by ckeilah on 5/6/2011 & rated 88 points: Musky peppery nose. Big sweet cherry vanilla fruit bomb. Intense. Maybe too much so.... :-o (7246 views)
Tasted by MSMendis on 4/23/2011 & rated 86 points: Very subtle aromas of black currant and cinnamon. Smooth with soft flavors and no sharp tannins. A nice wine that goes well with a mild South Indian curry. I would definitely recommend it. (7436 views)
Tasted by Nkraemer on 3/12/2011 & rated 88 points: Cherry & blackberry. Bold fruit - spicy. Paired well with tangy beef brisket. Would definitely buy again. (8240 views)
Tasted by kmicho on 3/2/2011 & rated 91 points: The '07 is particularly outstanding for the price. Strong peppery flavor. Nicely complex. Perfect balance of tanins. Ripe raspberry, cherry, vanilla. Extraordinary wine at this price point. Even better than the '05 & '06. Have had numerous wines for double or triple this price which don't drink this well. (8277 views)
Tasted by WineBarrique on 2/18/2011 & rated 88 points: Great value - a favorite (8314 views)
Tasted by Guyc on 1/29/2011 & rated 90 points: I just really like this wine, it never seems to disappoint. We just paired this oddly with a Chili Con Carne on a cold night and the peppery kick was fab. (8628 views)

2007 Michael-David Vineyards Zinfandel 7 Deadly Zinshttp://www.lodivineyards.com/7deadly.htmMichael-David Vineyards Zinfandel 7 Deadly ZinsA sinful blend indeed! Our flagship Zinfandel was devised by the two Phillips brothers in their search for a blended Zin so captivating that no one could refuse. With consistency in mind, the brothers decided to blend the fruit of Lodi’s finest growers to fill the bottles of Michael~David’s new-fangled wine. In the end, Seven vineyards were chosen for their superiority. Now, how do you label a wine so unique in style? Looking to their past, the two Phillips brothers quickly related the Seven Sins from their Catholic school upbringing to the seven Old Vine Zinfandels blended in their wine.
Loaded with berry fruit, pepper, spice, and earth characteristics. A rich, full-bodied, opulent, luscious Zinfandel.
Zinfandel ZAP: Zinfandel Advocates & Producers | Varietal character (Appellation America) | Wikipedia-ZinfandelUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Central Valley The Central California Winegrowers (Official site) | Central Valley (California Wine Institute)Lodi Lodi Woodbridge Winegrape Commission | Lodi District Grape Growers Association |
