(2598 views) | | Tasted by Man in Black on 10/20/2013: The wine is clear and bright with a medium brown colour and a bit of deposit. The nose is clean and fully developed, with medium intensity aromas of dried figs, prunes, liquorice, nail varnish remover and hints of caramel. It's medium-sweet in the mouth, with medium- acidity, low alcohol (for a fortified), full body and medium+ intensity flavours of dried figs, nail varnish remover, liquorce, caramel and cherries. Long finish. It's a good quality wine that lacks some complexity and balance, but it has a very good concentration and length. Drink now, it won't develop, but can be kept for 4-6 years. Very good all on its own too. I'm a big fan. (3861 views) | | Tasted by balassis on 3/23/2009 & rated 93 points: Very interesting and successful job from Thanassis Parparoussis, a serious winemaker of Patras (West Peloponnisos). Muddy ruby/brown in color. At the beginning mute nose, but after some aeration into the glasses reveals aromas of raisins, black forest fruits and apple pie. Full-bodied with realy a very good balance between acidity and sweetness. Flavors of figs, cinnamon, clove, nuts and black pepper. Very long and spicy aftertaste. A porto like wine. Pairs nicely with chocolate cake, strong cheese, but stands on its own, after a good meal. (3973 views) |
