Tasted by Docemann5 on 2/12/2021 & rated 88 points: Fizzling out of sweetness. On its last leg but smooth enough (1139 views)
Tasted by levinml on 6/6/2018 & rated 89 points: What's not to like here, especially for $20 (albeit 10 years ago). Nice balance and flavors. Not deep or profound, but good drinking. Mine was well cellared, and while perhaps not at peak, nothing flabby or over the hill about it. 2014 end too early, but don't wait. (2274 views)
Tasted by KGudek on 5/31/2018 & rated 88 points: Was ok (2241 views)
Tasted by jimmieL on 1/23/2018 & rated 88 points: The last of a case and still drinking well, albeit a bit thinner than I remembered, has kept much better than I expected. No decanting, but did let it sit for about 30 minutes. Nice dark fruit, with some subtle spice undertones. Nice balance of tannin on the finish. (2356 views)
Tasted by Rkgreen5 on 2/13/2016: The wine has medium acidity. The body is full. The wine finishes long. The wine has round texture. (4520 views)
Tasted by levinml on 10/20/2015 & rated 90 points: Good year, good value. Everything in place, not profound or great complexity, but good flavor, depth and balance. Easy and nice to drink over three days under pump. (4080 views)
Tasted by GoHarry on 10/5/2014: Nice (4610 views)
 Tasted by tmf3lehigh on 7/25/2014: D (4901 views)
Tasted by JeffnShari0614 on 1/28/2014 & rated 90 points: Nose is blackberry. Color burgundy. Delightful on front of tongue, working way towards the middle of the palette. Medium bodied, refined tannins have aged well. Taste introduces accents of plum and oak to the blackberry. Nice smooth finish. I love it. (5654 views)
Tasted by JeffE27 on 1/11/2014: Disapointinh watery short on finish (3760 views)
Tasted by dmitchell4 on 12/31/2013 & rated 87 points: Nothing special. (3407 views)
Tasted by King Saba on 12/24/2013 & rated 85 points: Nothing special. Consistent and predictable A little short on length. (2246 views)
Tasted by bacchus on 11/22/2013 & rated 87 points: shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of the work week. a far cry from the simi wines of the past. nothing very memorable here. a decent cab but fairly straight forward with little complexity and limited prospects for improvement with more time in bottle. light to medium body. dark fruit and a hint of spice. not much else to speak of. (2122 views)
Tasted by j30 on 10/4/2013 & rated 87 points: Medium nose of dark fruit and vanilla. Fine palate that's ripe but balanced. It's what I was looking for. (1858 views)
Tasted by Zuebolla on 4/26/2013 & rated 86 points: Smooth (1112 views)
Tasted by JDV.DDSPHD on 11/14/2012 & rated 86 points: So I had my last bottle of this the other night and it really lost something. Dark purple in color with a muted nose of dill and earth. This is my last bottle of this and while it a decent middle of week cab it is by no means mind blowing. On the second night it opened up a bit and some plum and blackberry started to show up but the overall earthiness and tannins really stood out. Again not a bad bottle but not much here. (4334 views)
Tasted by JDV.DDSPHD on 8/10/2012 & rated 89 points: Licorice on the nose with some black fruit. Not overly complex but for what it is very nice hints of oak & black currants. (5062 views)
Tasted by MilesLP on 7/3/2012 & rated 89 points: herbal nose, dark, medium to full bodied, black currant/cassis with mild vanilla and some black cherry, balanced, tannins in between dusty and grippy but help to prolong a finish that keeps the fruit flavour, in the end an elegant wine (5217 views)
Tasted by TPV Wine Cellar on 6/25/2012: OK, nothing great. Very rough and tart when opened. Much better the second day after it had time to breath. (5314 views)
Tasted by MilesLP on 6/23/2012 & rated 90 points: dark, medium to full bodied, black currant, drinking deep and complex, good finish, very enjoyable (4863 views)
Tasted by MilesLP on 6/16/2012 & rated 88 points: good nose good black currant flavour, dry, becoming a bit astringent with bottle age (3155 views)
Tasted by cipote on 4/29/2012 & rated 84 points: Tasted very hot to me, cherry and lots of oak. Would maybe try another bottle. (3586 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
