Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 89.7 pts. and median of 89 pts. in 3 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by Poisey on 3/19/2016 & rated 92 points: Still robust with nice acidity and firm round tannin. Stating to die out a little but surprisingly very youthful. Old leather cherries tea leaf and citrus notes. Quite Lively. (1412 views)
Tasted by Bill Bucklew on 3/13/2015 & rated 89 points: Expressive nose of black fruits, stewed black plums and a touch of oak. Surprisingly concentrated and expressive palate with a core of blackberry and muddled black cherries with a relatively quick finish with a slight bitterness. It goes without saying, but drink up. (1691 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 9/24/1994 & rated 88 points: Quite closed, light Rufina character, modern, strawberries and cold tea. (2950 views)

Sangiovese Blend

Sangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.
