Tasted by kosmik on 3/8/2024 & rated 91 points: Mur.

Tasted by kfrench150 on 9/17/2022 & rated 89 points: Last bottle. Perfect cork. Pnp. Very deep ruby red with a little bricking. Mature nose of luscious plump red berries, sour cherry, earth, leather, lots of leather, and even a touch of iron. Silky smooth entry. The fruit is starting to dry out a little bit on the palate. But has good weight and balance with a dry finish. Dried red and black berries, leather, stone dust and chalky tannins. Still nice and juicy though. Clearly we'll made and this has been well stored since release but time to drink up. Not disappointed that this is the last one. Caught it while it was just starting to fade. 89 points (1018 views)
Tasted by df1962 on 12/31/2021 & rated 92 points: PnD let air for 3hrs. At Vandiners.

Elegant balanced delicious. In an excellent spot. Drink it now in the zone. (1623 views)
Tasted by TXRhoneRanger on 8/27/2021 & rated 91 points: A bit on the backward side for me. I wish there was less new world, and more old world. The oak was a bit much to me. Felt like a little too much makeup for such a naturally rich wine. Interesting to taste. If the oak were backed off, I'd say it would remind me of a high producer St. Emilion in style. (1857 views)
Tasted by kfrench150 on 8/22/2021 & rated 92 points: In magnum. Pristine cork after all these years. Decanted off quite a bit of sediment. Full, deep ruby red with a fair amount of sediment. Lovely nose of black currant, plum, blackberry, graphite, licorice, ink, and a slight amount of black currant leaf. Really quite spectacular on the nose! Medium full bodied, tangy acidity, no tannins to speak of and a tapering fine finish that is nicely dry. Similar flavours as the nose. Really nicely balanced between the fruit and acid. Just perfect with food, especially BBQ steak and Tuscan white beans with rosemary. So happy this lasted and performed. Not too surprising since 2007 was one of the better vintages. (1916 views)

Tasted by Vmaster007 on 1/10/2020 & rated 89 points: From a magnum. Holding up very well, but I wouldn’t wait too much.
Lovely wine with good aromas, not that much depth. (2299 views)
Tasted by maxima on 12/7/2019 & rated 87 points: Sur les poivrons et tanique.
Finale longue mais sur la chauffe et
asséchante. Encore uen fois , déception. (2899 views)
(2312 views)
Tasted by SadEdjo on 2/17/2019 & rated 90 points: still very tightly wound. tobacco. (2436 views)
Tasted by SiR on 2/16/2019 & rated 91 points: 13.5% - Clear, med garnet with a bricking hue / clean, pronounced intensity - ripe strawberry, bramble, green bell pepper, old leather, spice box, tobacco / dry, med+ acidity, med+ resolved tannin, med body, med+ intensity, persistent finish. I was expecting the worst after a crumbling cork that collapsed, but this is in a great zone right now. Double decanted (for the cork crumblings and the s*** load of sediments) and served with beef tartar. Probably one of the best Grand Vin from Osoyoos Larose I've had so far. (1539 views)
Tasted by AV2012 on 1/22/2019 & rated 91 points: Oaky and powerful, fruit forward and quite enticing. It has the plushness of Merlot, giving and open character. Still seems to be too young. Tannic, long and classy. Will improve. (1546 views)
Tasted by elevation02 on 1/9/2019 & rated 93 points: Once again our anniversary wine delivers!!! Big and powerful yet elegant in other ways. Cant wait for the 2008 next Christmas! (1727 views)
Tasted by kfrench150 on 11/16/2018 & rated 87 points: Good solid cork with 1 mm of penetration. Beautifully deep and rich cherry coke colour with a slight Fe2O3 tint at the edge. Wow! Great nose full of dark savoury fruit. Mullberry, black raspberry, black plum, meat jus, and a hint of bell pepper on the nose that doesn't detract but rather adds another nice layer of complexity. Initial impression is dry and tart, but then the fruit comes to the fore. More of the same dark fruits on the palate with additional black current notes and some oak as well. Quite dry and still a bit tannic on the finish. This drinks quite nicely - initially. Lovely juice! Starts out at a 92 but then quickly fades to an 87 tops. Sheds all the fruit and leaves the dry tannins behind. Showed much better last year in Stockholm. Rather disappointing. (1433 views)
Tasted by Martin Ferland on 10/13/2018 & rated 92 points: En verticale avec un 2008 & 2009 (1510 views)
Tasted by Tige on 4/8/2018 & rated 90 points: Délice!
(2171 views)
Tasted by cpiliotis on 1/28/2018 & rated 92 points: Fantastic. This wine has peaked and is to be drunk this year in 2018. Tannins are soft, flavours are outstanding. (1886 views)
(2551 views)
Tasted by flussier on 8/14/2017 & rated 92 points: Robe bourgogne foncé. (2486 views)
Tasted by kfrench150 on 8/22/2016 & rated 93 points: Redemption bottle for the corked 2003 and disappointing 2004. Rich, deep purple crimson colour right to the rim. Full bodied. Blackberry, black current, very ripe fruit and just the slightest touch of leafiness on the nose. Lovely texture, smooth, full and bursting with dark fruits on the palate. Nicely balanced by brisk acidity and some still gritty tannins. Good length. Quite a stunning new world Bordeaux blend! Faith restored. (1041 views)
Tasted by SadEdjo on 8/1/2016 & rated 91 points: Decanted. Initially *very* tightly wound. Blossomed into cassis, tobacco, espresso, hint of soya. Fine-grained tannins. Years away from peak (3390 views)
Tasted by winot on 7/19/2016 & rated 90 points: Very nice - still very youthful - very Bordeaux, cedar and black fruits - evolving nicely. (2788 views)
Tasted by winot on 1/27/2016 & rated 86 points: Deep black iodine red, nose of charcoal, oak, dark chocolate if you're being generous - better on the palate, with some fruit popping in for an appearance before the Darkness of over-oaking, over-extraction and over-everything takes hold and chills its heart- dark, chocolatey, espresso - really rather dreary, the wine of Mordor - viniculture not on the same page as viticulture - drink sooner rather than later, there is little hope for light to emerge from this gloom - drink on a rainy night - but to be fair, good acidity, balance is decent, if that makes sense in the context of the above. (3834 views)
Tasted by rexmerlot on 12/18/2015 & rated 90 points: Wine is definitely getting better with age. No formal notes. But wine was a hit with everyone at dinner. (3300 views)

Red Bordeaux Blend

Red Bordeaux is generally made from a blend of grapes. Permitted grapes are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and rarely Carménère.Today Carménère is rarely used, with Château Clerc Milon, a fifth growth Bordeaux, being one of the few to still retain Carménère vines. As of July 2019, Bordeaux wineries authorized the use of four new red grapes to combat temperature increases in Bordeaux. These newly approved grapes are Marselan, Touriga Nacional, Castets, and Arinarnoa.

Wineries all over the world aspire to making wines in a Bordeaux style. In 1988, a group of American vintners formed The Meritage Association to identify wines made in this way. Although most Meritage wines come from California, there are members of the Meritage Association in 18 states and five other countries, including Argentina, Australia, Canada, Israel, and Mexico.
