Tasted by jmh st louis on 4/1/2020 & rated 91 points: Well balanced dark fruit and tannins. (1337 views)
Tasted by kenv on 12/31/2016 & rated 92 points: Opened at 6:30 for New Year's Eve. Still opaque purple color. Loads of ripe fruit and spice in the nose. Rich and big in the mouth, but quite balanced. The tannins do show through the ripe fruit on the finish. Amy likes it. (3570 views)
Tasted by mckillop on 10/27/2016 & rated 89 points: Not as good the '07. Not a enough structure to hold it for this long and it still tastes a little 'green'. (3398 views)
Tasted by Farnelicous on 4/30/2016 & rated 87 points: Great color and smell. Weak flavors. Very light fruit and taste which was surprising for what look and smelled like a big wine. (4151 views)
Tasted by Ridgerunner on 1/26/2016 & rated 92 points: For a value meritage this wine rocks! (4458 views)
Tasted by Ceo on 12/6/2015 & rated 90 points: Smoother with age! (3967 views)
Tasted by CasaHernandez on 9/27/2014: Loved it. Rich, a little fruity, long finish, but not enough bottles of it. (4045 views)
Tasted by WineGold on 2/1/2014 & rated 91 points: Dark rich fruit: raspberry, blueberry, plum. Really big fruit on the nose. Not much tannin. Not much depth. Not much complexity. Straight forward on the palate, more interesting on the nose. REALLY good wine for the price. Agree with previous reviewer: this is better than a table wine. (5105 views)
Tasted by awineo on 10/22/2013 & rated 90 points: One of Foley's low end wines but still has solid extracted fruit and tannins at a more reasonable price. One left. (4832 views)
Tasted by awineo on 10/10/2013 & rated 90 points: Foley always makes a great wine, but this one is definitely not my favorite. Decent but not great. (4453 views)
Tasted by Ridgerunner on 9/4/2013 & rated 91 points: This is a great early drinking Cab blend. I am reluctant to label it a table wine. (4509 views)
Tasted by Ridgerunner on 8/28/2013 & rated 91 points: This Wine is improving I can see the score rising. (3132 views)
Tasted by WineGuyDelMar on 6/4/2013 & rated 90 points: Tannis have mellowed considerably & is drinking great now. Purple black color with the sweet nose of the Petite Syrah but on the taste the cabernet is more predominant. Nice extraction that I love but lacks the layering of flavors I prefer. Still a very good wine & an interesting blend if Petite Syrah, Cabernet, Merlot & Charbobo. Hard to compare it to anything but a well made, enjoyable wine. (2905 views)
Tasted by Ridgerunner on 5/12/2013 & rated 91 points: A great value from the Robert Foley lineup! (2098 views)
Tasted by StefanAkiko on 2/11/2013 & rated 89 points: Powerful, one-dimensional, purple black wine. Interesting blend that sings many songs including the love songs of Amarone, Oz Cab/Shiraz and Napa power ballads. Still young with a fruity nose and anise seeds. L Body, M acids and M+ tannin well hidden by the extracted fruit. Small bitterness that adds to the food pairing experience. Bashful entry, broad mid-palate and long finish where the tannins come in to action. This is a great structure resulting from good wine making, but we miss the stuffing to merit a higher score. Really looking forward to more encounters with Foley's wines.
Non-blind. Decanted 3 hrs @ home.
Impression: Excellent (Wife agrees)

Day 2:
Falling apart over its over-extraction. Delineation missing. Still very delicious but there are much better wines in both the category and at this price point. (85p, however, I will not down-grade the score.) (2912 views)
Tasted by Ridgerunner on 12/31/2012 & rated 91 points: Just a baby! Great blend! (2819 views)
Tasted by garyty on 12/15/2012 & rated 90 points: - Violet color - Very good drinking wine. (2898 views)
Tasted by corkscrews on 12/15/2012 & rated 92 points: A nose of bold dark fruits and spice, dark black purple in color. A robust full bodied kitchen sink blend with blueberry, black cherry, spice cake and pepper, a big but balanced wine. Decant for a few hours, many years of life left. (2496 views)
Tasted by awineo on 10/31/2012 & rated 90 points: This my "Foley Drinker". Nice red, but not at the same level as his other stuff. (2933 views)
Tasted by tb_baltimore on 9/28/2012 & rated 91 points: Similar sense to last bottle -- this opens up with time, I don't have a sense that it will continue to change with more time in cellar, it feels ready to my taste -- a bit heavier on the alcohol side than I would prefer, but the taste combination is outstanding and a really enjoyable bottle. (2700 views)
Tasted by jcsf420 on 8/19/2012 & rated 91 points: The fruity Petite Sirah dominates this blend but the Cab influence starts to kick in after an hour or so. Fine drying tannins on the palate combine nicely with the fruit to make this a very enjoyable wine. I have a glass left to try on day two also. (2762 views)
Tasted by briquette on 4/30/2012 & rated 91 points: seems to be getting better with age. not as sharp and a little smoother than previous bottles. (3438 views)
Tasted by jhieb on 4/29/2012 & rated 89 points: Good, but the previous vintage had more body and depth. (3407 views)
Tasted by hankj on 4/22/2012 & rated 91 points: The Petite Syrah character really dominates this wine, but it's well-tempered by the Cab et al. It's got a deep and complex nose but those PS berries halfway mask the other aromas. Tannic, but finely tannic. This will drink great once it settles down just a little more (2 years) then hold up well for at least 5 to 7 more years. (3478 views)
Tasted by rdavy on 4/15/2012 & rated 84 points: took a long time to open and was not nearly as big as expected. It good not great. Lacked big rich flavor and depth. (3440 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
