Tasted by RDB Wine on 12/26/2020 & rated 80 points: Drank from Bin East 25. Bought from K&L in October 2005. COVID-19 Christmas dinner with Aline, Pat and Wally. Hint of spice and pear on nose. Cork failure but dark yellow. Full body soft even delicate leather slight sweetness. Absolutely delicious for 16 year old white. 8/10 (225 views)
Tasted by SAND on 10/4/2013: Duft: Avdempet rieslingfrukt, noe endimensjonal.
(1176 views)
Tasted by kahiil on 7/12/2009: Litt rå i munnen, med umodent preg. Trenger nok et par-tre år til... Potensiale i lukten, men ikke ferdig enda. (1815 views)
Tasted by Rieslingfan on 3/29/2006: Tasted alongside two 1995 Austrians this wine got its butt kicked, but it's still quite good. Very dry and stern, but with good depth of flavor, needing time to round out and the right food to blossom. Rocks in a bottle. (2460 views)
Tasted by ntav on 7/16/2005 & rated 88 points: Crisp with good balance but evident acidity nicely counter weighted by extract and fruit. Classic rheingau riesling, will be interesting to see how it ages. (2446 views)

#2014 Vintage Notes:
2014 Vintage Report by Terry Theise
2014 Vintage Report by Wine Spectator
"My gut still tells me the Saar (and to some extent) the Ruwer are better overall in 2014 than the more storied areas of the Mosel proper, but those that spent the requisite time living in their middle-Mosel vineyards made some of the most electric and "feathery" Riesling in a long time (maybe the finest in 20 years - yes, it's true!)" - Jon Rimmerman (Of course only a very short historical memory would call the Saar and Ruwer less 'storied' than the middle Mosel - jht)

Rheingau

On weinlagen.info

The small but fine wine-growing area Rheingau offers one for the culture of the vine ideal microclimate and best soil conditions. The Rhine runs uninterruptedly almost one thousand kilometres from Basel up to its muzzle into the North Sea, in a northerly direction. With a short exception - the Rheingau. The Rheingau mountains force the river to a change in direction here. The vineyards falling in this region to the south stretch really to the sun. The king of the white wines, the Riesling, finds ideal local conditions for the unfolding of his fine fruity and elegant type of vine character on the multilayered weathering grounds with loess, loam and sand additions.
