2005 Purisima Mountain Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (200 cases)

One of our most anticipated releases each vintage, the 2005 bottling of our Purisima Mountain Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a highly structured wine from a cooler growing season. Intense and age worthy, it definitely demands some decanting before savoring its raspberry, cassis and red licorice aromatics, and its deep, sumptuous flavors of black cherry, grenadine, dark chocolate and charcoal. Aged in 60 percent new oak, this powerhouse Cab possesses firm tannins and the potential to age for up to two decades. As tempting as it is right now, patience will be a virtue with this one. To experience its full potential, best to lay it down for 3 to 5 years. Drink this wine with roasts, rack of lamb, or rich winter stews.
