| Community Tasting Notes | | Tasted by cweiss on 4/1/2020: With sauteéd salmon dinner. Really nice, still amazing minerals, just enough lemon and that something extra that age can bring (as I keep telling myself). Full disclosure, I've had some bottles that didn't hold up as well, but bottles like this make that more than tolerable. (583 views) | | Tasted by cweiss on 11/7/2013: China King, Drinking very nicely with considerable depth making up for no longer having prickly acidity (but has plenty). (3015 views) | | Tasted by MikeATL on 8/19/2013 flawed bottle: TN: LDM Young and Old: Corked and oxidized. (4031 views) | | Tasted by MikeATL on 9/30/2012: Older Loires: Light gold color and the honey and preserved lemon additions to the expected saline and mineral elements show right away that it isn't a baby any more. There is still enough fruit to balance the acidity, but it doesn't pop with the vibrancy of a recent bottle of the '97. A good, but not great example of an aged Muscadet, this bottle suggests that it might be time to start drinking these up. (4156 views) | | Tasted by 14frimaire on 6/10/2012: No premox here: just a beautiful, beautiful wine. From the first stash I ever saved. (3539 views) | | Tasted by cweiss on 1/27/2012: Brown bagged bottle as a starter at a dinner for mature high-class Bordeaux. Guesses included Haut Brion Blanc. Long finish. (3236 views) | | Tasted by cweiss on 9/10/2010: Drinking very nicely. (1563 views) | | Tasted by cweiss on 1/26/2010: Seemed mildly oxidized but still quite enjoyable. (1633 views) |
| Domaine de la Pépière Producer websiteMelon de BourgogneMelon de Bourgogne or Melon is a variety of white grape grown primarily in the Loire Valley region of France. It is also grown in North America. It is best known through its use in the white wine Muscadet.
In the U.S., Federal law prevents "Muscadet" from being used for American-produced wine; only the full name of the grape, or the shortened "Melon" can be used.
