From my first chard purchase from the Shafer mailer. Honey colored. Surprisingly good and barely a hint of oxidation, despite the color. There was fruit (albeit a small dose) and refreshing acidity. It also had a full, almost sweet palate. This was not an exercise that I would recommend, but if it happens to you, don't despair -- these hold up pretty well. (2437 views) |

John Shafer and his family founded Shafer Vineyards, located in the Stags Leap District of the Napa Valley, in 1979. From the Shafers' first wine, a 1978 Cabernet Sauvignon,
