Tasted by Lulu2 on 11/19/2010: Woody.. Think it's slightly turned..:( (5484 views)
Tasted by Seventy on 11/15/2010 & rated 83 points: Over the hill, probably waited too long. (5507 views)
Tasted by boyajian on 3/11/2010 & rated 87 points: Potent nose, floral accents with cherry body. Bitter and acidic in the palate but finishes with strong tannin and complex enough to keep me interested. Will only get better with age....

2nd Night (Vacuum Pump Sealed) - Delicious! This wine really settled down overnight. Less bitter in the palate and smoother on the finish. Loved it! (6124 views)
Tasted by gwalrath on 1/15/2010 & rated 89 points: Smooth (6398 views)
 Tasted by DRS-Inc on 12/19/2009 & rated 84 points: Had @ River's Edge's X-Mas party w/friends. (1975 views)
Tasted by Tel Fast on 9/10/2009 & rated 83 points: Like a skinny Tuscan belladonna, restrain with bolts and handcuffs, or this one may just blow away. The woody aromas of Firenze's pizza ovens can be sensed on the nose, like all good things from Italy patience is the key. Unfortunately the belladonna's slightly uncurtailed underarms dropped the odd insincerity into each bottle blending with an otherwise salivous Sangiovese. Perfect for those warm summer afternoons when the maid is in and the wife is out. (4392 views)
Tasted by PaulW on 8/21/2009 & rated 84 points: Had at Italian Pie $16 (4331 views)
Tasted by Courtilz on 8/8/2009 & rated 84 points: A little more tricky this time, bottle was not as well balanced. Had a nice finish still, but the nose was harsh. The alcohol comes through and has an almost soapy effect. (4373 views)
Tasted by Courtilz on 7/28/2009 & rated 85 points: Cheap bottle, but tasty. Good QPR. I'd buy again. (4375 views)
Tasted by Capt M on 7/4/2009 & rated 85 points: Red garnet, dark Mediterranean fruits on the bouquet, such as dates, sandalwood, and black currant. Light to medium body, with very nice acidity, nice fruit at the end, finishing medium to long. Nice Sangiovese. (4525 views)
Tasted by joncohen on 6/10/2009 & rated 87 points: Dusty garnet color fading to lilac/pink, light weight in glass. on the nose I get typical Chianti leather, wet earth, cranberry and red fruit; opens with bright red fruit, cranberry, plum, nice acid, followed by some astringency and clove (?). Surprisingly long finish. Nothing fancy or particularly complex, but a solid, inexpensive everyday exemplar of its type/place, which is a hell of a lot more than you can say for most wines in this price range. (4705 views)
Tasted by DRS-Inc on 6/4/2009 & rated 84 points: Had @ River's Edge in Yonkers w/steak dinner. Young sangiovese. Ruby red in color. Mild floral & ripe berry bouquet. Flavors of ripe cherry & cranberry w/tart finish. (1972 views)
Tasted by mikec42 on 5/24/2009 & rated 87 points: Enjoyed this wine with home-made pizza. Very nice nose and flavor. (4767 views)
Tasted by Kirk Grant on 4/10/2009 & rated 87 points: Starting a "new" tasting group (slave2thevine's house): I have to say that I was pleseantly surprised by this wine in a tasting last night. It was opened and run through the Vinturi into a decanter before pouring out into glasses. There was an interesting earth and cranberry note in the nose. In the mouth it offered good acidity, firm tannins, and lithe sour cherry, and cranberry flavors. What a nice surprise for someone who was truly jaded at the sight of this $10 bottle... (5644 views)
Tasted by Rich S on 3/8/2009 & rated 83 points: Medium ruby color. Simple cherry aromas on the nose. Cherry and mild plum flavors on the palate as well. Light bodied, not much of a finish. An ok Sunday glugger but not something I would drink regularly. (4937 views)
Tasted by NiklasW on 1/14/2009 & rated 81 points: ChTR kokous 14.1.2009 (SKO-toimisto): Tasted double blind. Decanted for an hour. This was a quite light red with a violet tinge to it. Initially the wine was quite closed some pungent smells of red berries like lingonberry, but after sometime it opened up with more floral smells like violet. On the palate it had light tannins, was quite light bodied with good acidity and lingonberry, and with time became also quite floral in the mouth. On the whole this was not a very remarkable wine, an easy drinker. 50+4+9+12+6=81 (5356 views)
Tasted by jmull on 12/25/2008 & rated 84 points: Didn't love it, even for the (low) price. Some decent fruit character and acidity here, but I found it both too sweet and too thin. Lots of better Italian reds at this price point. 84. (5021 views)
Tasted by SCamara on 11/29/2008 & rated 82 points: Pleasant wine, classic features of a Chiantti. Balanced acidity (5085 views)
Tasted by buddy22 on 9/29/2008 & rated 88 points: Pleasantly surprised by how good this was for the price. (5022 views)

Sangiovese Blend

Sangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.
