Tasted by CMN on 2/16/2016 & rated 87 points: Deep red. Nose of red berries, chalk, talcum powder and occasionally a Brett note that mostly disappeared with sufficient air. Flavors of red berries, chalk, grape, red currants and a green herbal note that makes itself known on the short finish. Good acidity and a light+ body, very easy drinking. At this stage needs a good decant. Smoother/better on day two. (2030 views)
Tasted by nzinkgraf on 5/15/2015: no longer carries the 'de la Giraudiere.'
aromas, savory, grapey, rocky/mineral. easy texture on the palate, juicy mouthwatering note, but acid really doesn't draw much attention to itself. lots of charm, with just a touch of pepper on the palate. (2204 views)
Tasted by Bill Bucklew on 12/15/2014 & rated 91 points: Similar to the last bottle, the nose is very expressive red fruit predominant and just a touch of earthiness. Bright acidity and resultant red fruit with a great, subtle spice that picks up weight with some air on the palate. (2352 views)
Tasted by Bill Bucklew on 11/8/2014 & rated 90 points: Great nose, redolent red fruit, green herbs and pommegranite. Bright red cherry on the palate, light body and medium acidity, this is elegant yet expressive wine, with raspberry and an underlying subtle spice component that complements well. (2326 views)
Tasted by SoundinBetween on 10/4/2014: Filled with notes of bell pepper and cranberry on the nose. Very savoury vegetal flavors, almost earthy as has been mentioned. High acid and not particularly persistent. A very good wine, would be great with food. (2210 views)
Tasted by acyso on 7/31/2014 & rated 90 points: Tasting with Florent Baumard (Chicago, IL): 3-5% cabernet sauvignon, depending on the vintage. This is what Loire reds are all about. Tons of fresh and juicy red fruit on the nose, with a prominent green pepper note as a counterbalance. The palate still has a bit of that "new wine taste" that you get in really young wines. Light on the tannins, but plenty of fruity, juicy acidity. Excellent! As Florent said, "this is kind of wine that you can drink with lunch, but doesn't prevent you from going back to work afterwards." (1492 views)
Tasted by tooch on 7/31/2014 & rated 92 points: The Wines of Florent Baumard (Domaine Wine Storage - Chicago, IL): There's something beautiful to me about this wine. The aromas smelled of fresh soil, bell peppers, cranberries, cherries and some fresh tobacco. The palate is fresh, red fruit driven, with soft touches of earth and florals. A pure wine. (1811 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 7/30/2014: Full on the palate. Soft. Great cab franc here. Really great caber franc. Darn. (711 views)
