| Community Tasting Notes (average 88.6 pts. and median of 89 pts. in 9 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by MaineMark on 6/6/2020 & rated 91 points: Time was well served on this, as we found it to be notably better than a few years back. Crisp and clean with notes of pear, paired very well with spicy Thai coconut curry stir fry. (730 views) | | Tasted by similia on 4/24/2018 & rated 90 points: Holunderblüte, mineralisch, Buchsbaum ist sehr dezent. geschmeidiger als andere Sancerre: fruchtig und (für Sancerre) dezente Säure. (1441 views) | | Tasted by fc1910 on 4/3/2018 & rated 86 points: From half bottle: fresh on the palate cooled down directly from the fridge, with some warm up in the glass a little unstructured, grassy, flowered, the slightly gooseberry fruit is ending sweet, finishes quite long with some lively acidity, drink now and over the next few years, good pairing with fryed salmon, **+, 85- 87 (1387 views) | | Tasted by short and confused on 1/20/2018 & rated 92 points: I though that this was excellent. Not at the level of site specific wines from Boulay, F. Cotat and P. Cotat but really really good. Nose citrus fruits, ginger, quinine and minerals. Bright, clean and crystal-clear. Succulent yellow fruits beautifully balanced by an acidic citrus element and salty stoniness. Love this stuff. Thought I had already opened the last bottle and found this one in a case of other wines. I am pretty sure it is all gone now. Nevertheless, it has elderflower fruit, more roundness, than juicy acidity and a medium finish. A slight sweetness to the finish as well. (2008 views) | | Tasted by MaineMark on 4/28/2017 & rated 89 points: Baskets of fruit with a bouquet of flowers in the middle. Smells sweet, hits the pallet sweet, then dry acidity is very satisfying. (1553 views) | | Tasted by wijnmeester on 4/5/2017 & rated 89 points: A bit of smokiness and ripe elderberry. Al lot of concentration for a 'village' sancerre. Very good. Boulay never disappoints. (1291 views) | | Tasted by wachmang on 1/28/2017 & rated 88 points: Clean but with some body and sweetness. Red grapefruit, orange, etc. (1372 views) | | Tasted by LW31 on 6/25/2016 & rated 87 points: In character. Not as mineral and structured as usual, but rounder and more open, as I suspect this vintage will give us for most Sancerre. Drinking well now with oysters and salads. (1773 views) |
