Tasted by Swintonblade on 9/15/2023 & rated 90 points: Good acidity with plenty of fruit, well balanced with a nice touch of sweetness but still dry. (227 views)
Tasted by scorbett on 10/1/2021: Solid wine for the price; simple.

Agree with the tasting notes below so nothing new to add. (778 views)
Tasted by mrkurtz on 2/16/2021 & rated 90 points: Sort of nutty, oily, and Chardonnay-like qualities on the nose. Off dry, but good acidity which mostly brings the sweetness in check. (870 views)
Tasted by degrandcru on 2/21/2019 & rated 89 points: On the nose apple, lime, petrol and floral notes. On the palate its off dry, high in acidity and offers a steely minerality and a hint of salinity that balances its sweetness perfectly. Mid to long finish. (1410 views)
Tasted by indiscriminate palate on 11/8/2018: Green Apple, loads of minerality/saline, lime pith, a bit of a steely quality. Feinherb to kabinett sweetness, balanced by medium-high acidity. Green fruit and lean character. Medium finish of juicy lime, green apple, and minerality. Good. (1464 views)
Tasted by WineTally on 7/29/2017: Riesling from Rüdesheimer Drachenstein (at 260m and 37*slope).

A(ccuracy)=2: Pale lemon with green tint; mildly aromatic.
B(alance) =2: Fruit forward, bit sweet though billed as "Dry".
C(omplexity)=1: Straightforward with hint of peach, lychee.
D(epth) =1: Average length and finish.

WineTally Score [2,2,1,1]=6/10

More processed than distinctive, yet decent value.

Tasted by Oechsle on 6/12/2017 & rated 85 points: Nose is subdued, terroir driven with mineral, gun powder, leesy scents and hints of Lime pith. There is a salty saline quality to the palate also mineral driven with green tart fruit profile. Herbs, high acid, not enough fruit to balance. leaning Feinherb rather dry compared to prior vintages. Bitter metallic grapefruit pith finish. Some vintages (2011) Josef Lietz makes the Dragon a delicious value and 15 year wine, 2015 isn’t one of those vintages. Rather disappointing. Purchased from retail shop and enjoyed 45-55. Drink now I don’t see this aging well even 5 years. (1881 views)
Tasted by dilbert64 on 3/26/2017 & rated 90 points: Very aromatic, crisp and fresh with tart apple with hints of lemon and lime. (1700 views)
Tasted by Puteljen! on 12/31/2016 & rated 89 points: New years eve (1554 views)
Tasted by Puteljen! on 12/9/2016 & rated 89 points: Very good for its level. Quite sweet, but fresh. Very clean and bright. Some depth but not much complexity. Amazing combo with Brebirousse d'Argental (french cheese) (1437 views)
Tasted by jonanator on 8/18/2016 & rated 90 points: Still the same killer wine like past vintages. Really a benchmark riesling for the price. Not much can compare at this price point. (702 views)
Tasted by wondersofwine on 8/1/2016 & rated 90 points: Labeled as 10% abv. Does not specify "Rudesheimer Drachenstein" on the label, but does say "Dragonstone." Straw to medium-gold color under different lighting conditions. Such an easy sipper that I found myself taking big swallows rather than "sipping." Very balanced and slightly tart. It showed tart apple flavor and a bit of lemon-lime squirt also. Very attractive. (533 views)

Weingut Josef Leitz Rüdesheimer Drachenstein Riesling Dragonstone

Extraordinarily aromatic, vigorous wines from a vintner who grows more commanding each vintage. This is the wine that once was called Rüdesheimer Drachenstein, and it’s the wine David Schildknecht said was the best Riesling value in the world, which is because Johannes sells it to us for much less than it’s worth. For a large-production wine this receives the same care in the vineyards and cellar that every Leitz wine receives.

#2014 Vintage Notes:
2014 Vintage Report by Terry Theise
2014 Vintage Report by Wine Spectator
"My gut still tells me the Saar (and to some extent) the Ruwer are better overall in 2014 than the more storied areas of the Mosel proper, but those that spent the requisite time living in their middle-Mosel vineyards made some of the most electric and "feathery" Riesling in a long time (maybe the finest in 20 years - yes, it's true!)" - Jon Rimmerman (Of course only a very short historical memory would call the Saar and Ruwer less 'storied' than the middle Mosel - jht)

Rheingau

VDP Rheingau (Official site) | The Rheingau (Wines of Germany) | Wikipedia about The Rheingau
On weinlagen.info

The small but fine wine-growing area Rheingau offers one for the culture of the vine ideal microclimate and best soil conditions. The Rhine runs uninterruptedly almost one thousand kilometres from Basel up to its muzzle into the North Sea, in a northerly direction. With a short exception - the Rheingau. The Rheingau mountains force the river to a change in direction here. The vineyards falling in this region to the south stretch really to the sun. The king of the white wines, the Riesling, finds ideal local conditions for the unfolding of his fine fruity and elegant type of vine character on the multilayered weathering grounds with loess, loam and sand additions.
