Ripe dark berry fruit and wood well balanced and the 15% ABV is not showing through. (219 views) | | Tasted by tedcholl on 1/10/2023 & rated 91 points: Really enjoyed this Priorat and at under $19 it's a wonderful bargain. Not that complex but very well made and a joy to drink. Blackberry, minerals, earth, dark fruit. Drink more Priorat like this! (252 views) | | Tasted by tedcholl on 10/9/2022 & rated 89 points: Very similar to the 2019 I recently drank but it did open up quicker. Cherry, leather, pepper, graphite. Great value. (291 views) | | Tasted by martimir on 6/14/2022: Very nice grenache! (351 views) | | Tasted by Old Wine Maven on 8/21/2021: Well made, limited oak. Good value from a great vintage. (631 views) | | Tasted by MarkSegal on 7/23/2021 & rated 92 points: Really enjoyed this. Big mouth feel, high alcohol for a Grenache. 1st priorat. Not my last. (578 views) | | Tasted by KingOfSpain on 12/17/2020 & rated 93 points: Nice tannins. Leather, tobacco, and raspberry. (781 views) | | Tasted by CAJR on 7/26/2020 & rated 86 points: Floral minerality (889 views) | | Tasted by Richard123 on 2/20/2020 & rated 89 points: Nice enough, solid wine, fruity with good tannic foundation. Fully priced at $20, however. (1142 views) | | Tasted by Jzizzle on 10/5/2019 & rated 90 points: This is big, bursting with red & dark fruit and spice, yet also bright and avoiding any sense of heaviness. Party. (1208 views) | | Tasted by Bnelson29 on 8/10/2019: Bordeaux Glass Leslee: Smoky, chewy, textured + earthy. Great with meats. (1206 views) | | Tasted by Dwolfordwines on 6/6/2019 & rated 90 points: Really enjoyable juicy, bold wine with great length. Very well integrated despite the high alcohol content.
Underbrush, jammy blackberry, and slight licorice smell. On the body the acidity is fantastic with lots of Jammu raisiny fruit. Length is fantastic.
Would buy again. (1007 views) | | Tasted by Sylvain1962 on 5/25/2019 & rated 86 points: Rouge foncé, nez désagreable...souffré, boisé et fruité en bouche...manque de fraîcheur, jeté demi bouteille (953 views) | | Tasted by Boutip on 3/28/2019 & rated 88 points: Deep red color wine with nice mouthfeel, light tannin with some residual sugar notes perceptible. Nice level of complexity for the price. (724 views) | | Tasted by czar33 on 9/27/2018 & rated 86 points: Correct, moins de fraîcheur qu'il devrait avoir mais belle présence en bouche, un peu confituré il me semble. RQP -1 (744 views) |

Spain is the third largest wine producing nation in the world, occupying the majority of the Iberian Peninsula with vast diversity in climate, culture, and of course, wine. From inky, dark reds of the [Priorat] to dry, white Finos from Andalusia, Spain can easily boast of elaborating a wide variety of notable styles. Within Spain there are currently 62 demarcated wine regions, of which a handful have gained international recognition: [Rioja], Priorat and [Ribera del Duero]. Yet these regions are only a small sample of the high quality wines Spain produces. Regions such as Cava, Penedes, Somontano, Galicia, Rueda and Jerez are only a few of the numerous regions worthy of exploration throughout Spain. Spain can also lay claim to having the most land under vine in the world, growing up to, by some accounts, 600 indigenous varietals of which Tempranillo is their most well known. Other popular varietals include [Garnacha], Bobal and Monastrell for reds and for whites; the infamous [sic] Palomino Fino grape which is used in the production of sherry wine, Pedro Ximenez in Montilla Morilles, Albarino used in the creation of the bright, effervescent wines of Galicia, and Verdejo in Rueda. - Source: - Catavino.net
Spain is not in the forefront of winemaking for its dessert wines, other than for its sweet wines from Sherry country including the highly revered Olorosos (when sweetened). But apart from Sherry Spain has a range of styles of dessert wines, ranging from the those made from the Pedro Ximenez grape primarily in Jerez and Montilla-Moriles) to luscious, red dessert wines made in the Mediterranean from the Garnacha (Grenache) grape. Some good Moscatels are made in Mallorca, Alicante and Navarre. The northwest corner of Spain, Galicia, with its bitter Atlantic climate, is even making dessert wines, called “Tostadillos” in the village of Ribadivia (similar to France’s “Vin de Paille”). The Canary Islands have made interesting dessert wines for centuries (they are mentioned by Shakespeare, for example) and in recent years the quality of winemaking has been improved and the Canary Islands wines are being better marketed now. The winemaking styles for “Vinos Dulces” are also diverse, from “Late Harvest” (Vendimia Tardía) to “Fortified Wines” (Fermentación Parcial). Based on in-spain.info.Catalunya Map on weinlagen-infoPrioratAbout 100 kilometers from Barcelona, Priorat originated as a distinct recognized wine region in 1932, and was approved in 1954.
