Tasted by maxima on 11/18/2022 & rated 87 points: Frais, simple et assez court.
Lui manque un pue de oomph mais correct. (1248 views)
Tasted by PAOK Wines Brussels on 9/12/2021 & rated 88 points: Εντάξει, αλλά αν το βρεις κάτω από τα 23 ευρώ που εγώ το αγόρασα από το ιταλικό delicatessen (1069 views)
Tasted by Oberunter-5 on 8/23/2021 & rated 92 points: I had this over three days. Frankly, there’s little more I could ask for from a Mediterranean white at this price point. The nose speaks of place—sea and salt with faint floral elements and white stone fruits. The palate follows it—the salt is at the forefront, but around the edges there is almond skin, Asian pear, orange and lemon rind. The finish lingers nicely.

The acidity buoys the wine and for me is the real highlight (I would peg it at medium-plus).

This wine would work wonderfully with fish and white meats. (999 views)
Tasted by AlphaMikeFoxtrot on 5/16/2021 & rated 83 points: Ripe white peach, pear, apple orange peel. Pretty simple; but full bodied. Acid is mostly gone. Probably a bit over the hill. (1207 views)
Tasted by oakville72 on 4/3/2021 & rated 88 points: Light yellow-golden. Nose of newly-mown hay coupled with young citrus. The pulpy citrus character carries forward in the taste. A wine of considerable acidity plus a bit of minerality. Gets the juices going in the mouth. (1235 views)
Tasted by skurtz on 3/18/2021 & rated 90 points: Lovely round juicy fruit, cantelope mostly, nice mouthfeel, long finish with balanced acidity. I would get this again. (691 views)
Tasted by TannicBeast on 2/13/2021 & rated 89 points: Med (+) straw with a gold hue. Med (+) aromas of yellow apple, lemon peel, orange zest, tart white peach, fragrant white flowers and fresh herbs. No oak. Dry, with med (+) acidity and med alcohol (13%). The palate is consistent with the nose, but with much more intensity to the citrus and mineral components. Med-bodied, with a slightly bitter grapefruit zest, sea salt and wet stone finish. It is drinking nicely and will certainly last for many years, given its structure. Great QPR. (821 views)
Tasted by Château de Farmer on 12/18/2020 & rated 88 points: Simple but easy and of quality. This is basically the definition of "easy, harmless white wine". Some body but still plays light and fresh. some complexity on the nose, but little on the palate. (750 views)
Tasted by Tim Heaton on 5/26/2020: PnP. Have gone through the better part of a case since release, and I like, but don't love this vintage. Comes across as light>medium body, as such, I'm missing some (balanced) fruit/depth I typically find in the middle palate. Combined with the youthful, somewhat aggressive acidity, I'm not terribly happy with the overall balance. That said, another year of rest could very well help in these regards. 13,0% abv., drink thru 2024. recommended

Tasted by eprutter on 5/22/2020 & rated 87 points: Medium straw, quite aromatic. Notes of honeysuckle (almost mead-like) and tropical fruits on the nose. Wonderfully balanced with a bit of sweetness and nice acidity, lemons and Granny Smiths on the palate. Nice length, leaving a citrusy impression with a hint of minerality on the finish. This wine is soft and smooth, very easy drinking. Delicious summer wine. QPR is very high. (23 views)
Tasted by Caruso on 4/27/2020 & rated 89 points: Straw. White fruits, citrus and almost salty minerality in the aftertaste. For now I like this entry level white more than their Fiano Pietracalda. Simple, but intense, yet light and delicious. 5/12/16/6. -2022 (909 views)
Tasted by RussK on 2/24/2020 & rated 91 points: Russk. Gamberro Rossi Tasting at the DuPont Bldg. Like this producer. 91 pts. (827 views)
Tasted by Frazer742 on 11/30/2019 & rated 88 points: Orange blossom, honeysuckle and tropical fruit aromas lead the nose. On the bright palate, tangy acidity carries white peach and citrus flavours while a hint of Mediterranean herb marks the close. (701 views)
Tasted by tobyc on 10/25/2019 & rated 90 points: First Falanghina for me. Not the last.

Med intens straw yellow. Very pure, med intens, floral and youthful bouquet. Dry, med intens, med acid, med body and intensity. Balanced alc. med(+) finish. Very good.

Drink or keep.

My notes: White stone fruits, citrus, resin, citrus zest, pine needles, lemon confit, salty and umami. (394 views)

Falanghina

: Thought to be a key component in Falernum, treasured wine of the Roman Empire, the Falanghina grape is one of Italy's oldest. It is pronounced "Fah-Lahn-Gee'-Nah." Falanghina is an ancient species of grape that was already familiar to the Samnites and Romans who prized it and also called it Falernina, due to its diffusion throughout the "Falernus Ager." It was probably Roman merchants who brought this grape from Greece to Italy, spreading its cultivation throughout the centre and South. It owes its Latin name to the word "phalange," namely "tied to the pole," describing the ancient system of cultivation used to make the vines grow. Firm reports on the vine are more recent and date back to 1825, when Falanghina was mentioned in a treaty as being one of the best Samnite-origin grape species. Later on, in the thirties, a group of oenologists were to crown Falanghina as one of the best Italian grape species, to the extent that they recommended its diffusion in order to improve production in the South's main wine producing areas. Today, Falanghina is experiencing a moment of renewed success thanks to a policy of rediscovery and enhancement of historical and regional grape species.

: Falanghina is currently widespread throughout Campania, where it is used for making the eponymous wine and in many DOC wines (Denominazione di Origine Controllata -Controlled Denomination of Origin) both in its pure form (such as the Campi Flegrei Falanghina, Sant'Agata dei Goti Falanghina and Taburno Falanghina wines), as well as together with other white grapes (such as for Capri white wines, Costa d'Amalfi white and Falerno del Massico white wine). Its ideal habitat is on the island of Procida in the Campi Flegrei area and in the Sannio.

: The vine matures in the second half of September and is generally harvested at the start of October. It is averagely productive, vigorous, not particularly homogenous and requires a warm and dry climate. It has a robust stump with medium-length vine shoots that are rather weak and not very ramous, whilst the leaf is average size, trifoliate and cuneiform, almost whole, with a light-green color and a downy underside. The bunch is long, like a truncated cone, averagely compact and alated; the seeds are small and spherical, grey-yellow in colour with a thick and often pruinose skin, and the crunchy flesh is sweet and sharp.
