Tasted by BlackIce on 12/1/2011 & rated 84 points: For the price, this is a very drinkable white Bordeaux blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. The SB predominates. It is crisp/citrusy and still good even after drinking window has technically passed. (5630 views)
Tasted by maxime3333 on 9/15/2011 & rated 86 points: Bu d'un magnum. Résultat: "a surprising wine". Jusqu'à date, je seconde! Belle expérience. (5508 views)
Tasted by mikacz on 11/15/2009 & rated 86 points: Bursztynowa cielista barwa. W nosie żywica, miod. trawa, pokrzywa. Mocne cieliste, mało mineralne. Bardzo fajne ale specyficzne i może być kontrowersyjne. (5727 views)
Tasted by Hillbm on 3/23/2009 & rated 75 points: Smells like water with a subtle hint of compacted rubber balloon. As for taste... if there were a taste equivalent to the olfactory "scratch and sniff" sticker... this wine would be the quintessential "white wine" sticker. It doesn't taste like much - just like "white wine". Nonetheless, it is a perfect cooking wine, with a light body and crisp acidity. (6140 views)
Tasted by drdebs on 8/13/2008 & rated 85 points: Mixture of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, and Muscadelle. Pale shiny straw color. Aromas of hay, grass, and lemon pith. Dry, slightly tart flavors of citrus, lemon pith, and hay. Not too shabby, and would be great with simple fish preparation. Better with food than without, when something delicate is called for. (6261 views)
Tasted by Hueg on 7/11/2008 & rated 84 points: More body than I prefer, but otherwise a fine bottle. (3238 views)
Tasted by Zinlady on 7/4/2008 & rated 84 points: Was pleasant. No nose. Went fine with spiced sateed grouper. (3275 views)
Tasted by Billyray on 6/29/2008 & rated 85 points: Amber color, citrus and apple on the palate, light but lingering finish. (3452 views)
Tasted by DenisLee on 5/15/2008: This is my new go-to $7 white. Very refreshing quaffer. (3277 views)
Tasted by DenisLee on 3/21/2008: Agree with attic_dweller. pretty much fruit free. Crisp, almost sour. Light body. Will not re-purchase. (3328 views)
Tasted by attic_dweller on 1/28/2008 & rated 79 points: More experiments with cheap Bordeaux, this time the 'cadet class' white from the big name. Drinkable, but not worth the seven bones. (3483 views)
Tasted by Dulcie and Aylwin on 8/21/2007: Yellow straw colour, moderate bouquet of stones and a little tropical fruit. Surprisingly tart citrus with underlying minerality and grip. It's a decent wine for the price and the label always reminds me of my childhood, where a bottle of Mouton Cadet was our claret on special occasions. (3501 views)
Tasted by brianmik on 7/1/2007: Nose characteristic of Sauvignon Blanc, but had a deeper color. (2005) (3569 views)

History of Bordeaux

History of 1855 Bordeaux Classification

"2009 is all about ripeness, with wines impressively packed with ripe fruit and high alcohol levels. They are showy, in-your-face, and full of pleasure. The 2010s have the fruit and alcohol levels of the 2009s, but with a compelling freshness on the finish that balances the fruit and provides a perfect sense of structure." - Ben Nelson

"2016 is a landmark vintage in certain spots of Bordeaux and it should be remembered as one of the most inspired campaigns of the last 40-50+ years." -Jon Rimmerman
"The quality of red Bordeaux in 2016 was universally lauded – although the response to the en primeur campaign was muted. Quantity was high too, with the equivalent of 770 million bottles of wine produced. An exceptionally dry summer with cool nights eventually, thanks to mid September rain, resulted in small, thick-skinned, ripe grapes, and the wines are marked by high tannin and acidity, with superb aromatic fragrance." - Jancis Robinson

"2017 was complicated, but there are some excellent wines. Expect plenty of freshness and drinkability from wines that will offer excellent value, and others that will rival 2016 in terms of ripeness and ageability. But they are likely to be the exception not the rule, making careful selection key." - Jane Anson

"In the past, a vintage such as 2022 may have been overripe, raisined and low in acidity but 2022 had a sneaky little reservoir in its back pocket - a near perfect marriage of cool/cold/rain the previous winter and the previous vintage that literally soaked the soils (a key to why 2022 is not 2003...or 1893)." - Jon Rimmerman
