| Community Tasting Notes (average 93 pts. and median of 93 pts. in 3 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by Jason Wu on 3/19/2023 & rated 93 points: App: Ruby with garnet ring Nose: Med+ intensity, roses, forest, red cherry, clove, cinnamon, hawthorn, mint, milk chocolate, a little bit savoury notes, developing. Palate: Dry, high acidity, high alcohol, high tannins (compact), med+ intensity, coffee, hawthorn, red date, red roses, dark chocolate with a little bit bitterness at finish, med+ finish. Overall, very good wine. Compared to Pora, this wine is more restraint, not that perfume and vibrant. (1385 views) | | Tasted by oldwines on 12/23/2022 & rated 93 points: Tasted at the Produttori with Aldo Vacca. PnP unfortunately. Like the Pora it is a translucent medium ruby color and quite muted at first. After swirling it has more spice and fruit and less florals than the Pora but I find the fragrance quite beautiful. High acid and tannin. Rich and chewy on the palate, savory and red fruited. Seems like it is holding back a bit and needs more air and cellar time to come fully together. (1538 views) |

| Produttori del BarbarescoO ok justNebbioloNebbiolo is a red grape indigenous to the Piedmont region of Italy in the Northwest. The grape can also be found in other parts of the world, though they are not as respected.
Nebbiolo is often considered the "king of red wines," as it is the grape of the famed wines of Barolo DOCG, Barbaresco DOCG, and Roero DOCG. It is known for high tannins and acidity, but with a distinct finesse. When grown on clay, Nebbiolo can be very powerful, tannic, and require long aging periods to reach its full potential. When grown on sand, the grape exhibits a more approachable body with more elegant fruit and less tannins, but still has high aging potential.
"Nebbiolo" is named for the Italian word, "nebbia", which means "fog", in Italian and rightfully so since there is generally a lot of fog in the foothills of Piedmont during harvest.
Nebbiolo is a late-ripening variety that does best in a continental climate that boasts moderate summers and long autumns. In Piedmont, Nebbiolo is normally harvested in October.
