Great integrated dark fruit, spice. Another excellent SH Zin. (1365 views) | | Tasted by blakel on 4/29/2016 & rated 90 points: This has aged really well. Just one degree short of a fruit-bomb, but it turns out that's a great place. (1346 views) | | Tasted by Wicked Panda on 11/22/2014 & rated 89 points: A good spicy Zin. Restrained from being a fruit bomb. But still ha those classic raisined fruit finish, without being killed by the alcohol (2131 views) | | Tasted by North316 on 12/9/2013 & rated 86 points: Drinking better now, but seems much dryer than any other InZin and more spice/pepperiness. Still not my favorite InZin, but it is getting better with time. (3365 views) | | Tasted by Ann&Wayne on 6/9/2013 & rated 88 points: A good smooth inexpensive wine for everyday drinking. (3652 views) | | Tasted by Wicked Panda on 5/25/2013 & rated 89 points: Drinking well now. Yes, not pure zin, but a really good blend. What can I say. Hints of date and fruit compote mixed with leather and chocolate. Pairs wonderfully with a mix of cheeses and bruschetta. (2736 views) | | Tasted by North316 on 9/24/2012 & rated 85 points: This was still a great Scott Harvey wine, but this is my least favorite of the InZin vintages I have had so far. It seemed a little tight and just not that well integrated. I love the addition of Port in the blend, but I don't this one has fully integrated yet. It definitely got better after being opened 2 or 3 days, but just isn't where it needs to be yet. I'm going to let these sit another year or two and they should be right where I like them. Will just give me some time to drink up the 07 and 08. If you do drink now, I would suggest decanting for at least an hour or two. (4175 views) | | Tasted by bterry3 on 9/2/2012 & rated 89 points: - Brick color - See notes from last night. Great drinking wine, but not a true Zin... the Port really smoothes it out. Decanted for an hour... really improved the taste. (3008 views) | | Tasted by bterry3 on 8/31/2012: OK, this is a very interesting wine Scott Harvey has blended. Strictly speaking, it is not a Zin... Blend: 78% Zinfandel, 9% Syrah, 8% Barbera, 5% Mixed Port. So all you Zin Znobs, walk away. It is, however, a very drinkable wine. The addition of port smooths out the tongue and sweetens the taste. Good fruity start, a little peppery with a definite tannins finish. The port mellows it all out. The wine is still young, probably be better in a couple of years... but it will never last that long in our cellar! (2258 views) | | Tasted by joesi16 on 7/13/2012 & rated 88 points: nice mix , you can taste the port and it is a great addition (1894 views) | | Tasted by blakel on 5/3/2012 & rated 89 points: Wonderful wine with a long, hot finish. Strong tannins will mellow, but very drinkable right now. (2251 views) | | Tasted by discombobulated on 5/2/2012: nose: cherry, subtle cola, maybe smokey bbq; tart cherry, very good, but closed off - needs some time; jammy, blackberry, something hot (not pepper) (1796 views) | | Tasted by mschauber on 4/28/2012 & rated 87 points: Tight upon opening. Aromatically, hard to pull out anything specific. Deep dark burgundy coloring and clearly coated the glass. Ran through venturi which opened it up a bit with some dark cherry now on the nose. First sip was non-descript & warm/hot on the finish. 10 mins later the minimal port starts to show through both aromatically and taste. It has mellowed out, showing more full body with a distinc begin/middle/end. Tannins strong and need a bit longer to open up. Will decant remainder of bottle and celler the rest of the bottles for at least a year. (1990 views) | | Only displaying the 25 most recent notes - click to see all notes for this wine... |

Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers.
