Tasted by SiciliaVegaUnica on 7/18/2017 & rated 89 points: Aged but delicious. Can still detect some tannins and fruitiness. (1821 views)
Tasted by Avalanche1981 on 11/13/2015 & rated 60 points: Dead als fuck... Already new but there was this last forcierten bottle sitting in my cellar... (3024 views)
Tasted by SimonK on 11/14/2014 flawed bottle: oxidized (3719 views)
Tasted by jjlobi on 6/12/2014 & rated 68 points: Hated this. Poured it down the drain (4262 views)
Tasted by SimonK on 2/22/2014 flawed bottle: Oxidized (4711 views)
Tasted by aknot13 on 2/21/2014 flawed bottle: Over the hill, simply undrinkable. (3378 views)
Tasted by Roest on 1/30/2013: In my book, this is very far from a 90 point wine (as given by the TWA). It is a simple, but well-made wine for the everyday meal. It's a good value at 7-8 bucks, but that's it.
Good thing that Jay Miller isn't with TWA anymore. (2019 views)
Tasted by Jara on 9/29/2012 & rated 82 points: Dark ruby. Medium nose, smoky. Peppery. Some roughness. Medium finish. good wine but not special. (5893 views)
Tasted by cbbrown3 on 9/9/2012 & rated 88 points: This is a medium to dark ruby color. There are blackberries, black cherries, baking spices, white pepper, plums, smoke, and vanilla on the slightly reserved nose. The wine is a medium body, at most, with soft, ripe tannins and tart acidity. Very bright, tart red fruit on the palate with spices and a touch of oak in the background. With a bit of air, more spices and pepper also make it to the party. Decent length on the finish with the tart, spicy, fruit fading a bit too quickly. Not your typical, slightly sweet, soft, easy drinker usually seen at this price point from this area. No complexity, but fairly tasty. (5842 views)
Tasted by Fwmsmeets on 8/13/2012 & rated 86 points: Nice, full bodied, but no complexity and too sweet, smooth (5603 views)
Tasted by Ron Van Holland on 5/5/2012 & rated 90 points: Drank without my "tasting notes" hat on and found a stunning sum bigger than its parts. What I experienced last time as lightness mid- and late-palate, I experienced this time as a desirable chalk element. I don't recall before rating the same wine with a two-point differential, but those are my impressions. Excellent. (5822 views)
Tasted by Ron Van Holland on 4/26/2012 & rated 88 points: Medium-deep ruby color. Light, nose-on-the-rim of cherry with blueberry notes. Medium-light palate of black fruit and spice, not particularly complex, but very agreeable; with balanced tannins and acidity on a medium finish. This will pair well with mid-weight protein like roast beef or char grilled salmon...or great with burgers and pizza. Good QPR. (6091 views)
Tasted by Solange on 4/8/2012 & rated 79 points: Too new worldly for me. Either too much ripe plum or tannins, depending on where it lands on your tongue. The taste is flat, single dimensional, does not open in your mouth. Maybe it will do better on the second day. (3784 views)
Tasted by WarnerNL on 3/25/2012: Parker 90 points (1698 views)
Tasted by Alain Harvey on 2/5/2012 & rated 87 points: The color is deep, dark, opaque, vampire blood red. The nose is cherry, blueberry, new mown lawn, strawberry Twizzlers and a touch of spearmint gum. There is burst of flavor on the first sip, blackberry, cassis, milk chocolate, black plum, curry spice and apple pie. It is very silky on the palate, but the tannins are firm, they don’t intrude, but you know they are there. There is a very nice dose of acidity, the fruit covers up the acidity until the finish. The finish lasts a very long time. A bargain for the price. If you look closely at the label you'll discover that it depicts a bull not a cow and those are not udders. (4462 views)
Tasted by bigred3xxx on 1/3/2012: Amazing value, solid every day wine......and only 10 bucks! (4467 views)
Tasted by jdrach on 12/24/2011: Chocolate covered cherries (967 views)
Tasted by DRS-Inc on 12/12/2011 & rated 87 points: 85% Syrah & 15% Garnacha. Drank w/dinner over 2 nights. Initially PnV w/1 hr. air time & then came back to it on 2nd day. Deep garnet color. At first was slightly primary, but improved much w/some air time & opened up nicely on 2nd day. Tart red cherry & berries, herbs & black pepper aromas & flavors, and picked up a slight note kinda resembling raisinettes. Soft, dry palate w/smooth tannins, moderate acidity, mid-bodied and medium finish. Very good QPR. (4697 views)
Tasted by Franks wijn on 10/18/2011 & rated 84 points: bij het openen nog wat vlak, een dagje erna heerlojk op dronk. ineens een favoriet (5456 views)
Tasted by jmcmchi on 10/13/2011 & rated 88 points: Dark, smoky nose, smooth on palate, spicy with softish tannins coming through on side of tongue; good length, seems hotter than the 13.5% alcohol would suggest

Good value (5345 views)
Tasted by Drcarl on 9/24/2011: Notwithstanding a 90 rating by a professional displayed on an extra label, this wine was no better than an 84. No aroma in the glass and ordinary in taste. But there's no telling how my bottle was treated prior to purchase. (5449 views)
Tasted by danielbleier on 7/31/2011 & rated 89 points: consistent with prior notes (5868 views)
Tasted by Blindtasting on 6/8/2011 & rated 90 points: Very good. (6635 views)
Tasted by wahoo70 on 5/14/2011 & rated 89 points: Another incredible value Spanish red. Dark, complex and well-balanced. Dark fruit on the nose, with spicy carnations, a root beer note and a bit of old world funk; lush dark fruit flavors, chocolate, a savory black olive note, and well-integrated tannins; a brilliant peppery mid-palate, carrying through into a long black cherry finish, ending finally with tobacco notes. Delicious as a pop and pour, but much better if left to open, as the floral and pepper notes start to appear. Yet another great value from the Wegman's (Princeton) 90 points/value collection. For anyone wanting to taste lovely wines at value prices, I highly recommend cruising their selections. (6958 views)

Spain

Vinos de España - Wines of Spain (Instituto Español de Comercio Exterior) | Wikipedia
Wine Map on weinlagen-info

Spain is the third largest wine producing nation in the world, occupying the majority of the Iberian Peninsula with vast diversity in climate, culture, and of course, wine. From inky, dark reds of the [Priorat] to dry, white Finos from Andalusia, Spain can easily boast of elaborating a wide variety of notable styles. Within Spain there are currently 62 demarcated wine regions, of which a handful have gained international recognition: [Rioja], Priorat and [Ribera del Duero]. Yet these regions are only a small sample of the high quality wines Spain produces. Regions such as Cava, Penedes, Somontano, Galicia, Rueda and Jerez are only a few of the numerous regions worthy of exploration throughout Spain. Spain can also lay claim to having the most land under vine in the world, growing up to, by some accounts, 600 indigenous varietals of which Tempranillo is their most well known. Other popular varietals include [Garnacha], Bobal and Monastrell for reds and for whites; the infamous [sic] Palomino Fino grape which is used in the production of sherry wine, Pedro Ximenez in Montilla Morilles, Albarino used in the creation of the bright, effervescent wines of Galicia, and Verdejo in Rueda. - Source: - Catavino.net

Spain is not in the forefront of winemaking for its dessert wines, other than for its sweet wines from Sherry country including the highly revered Olorosos (when sweetened). But apart from Sherry Spain has a range of styles of dessert wines, ranging from the those made from the Pedro Ximenez grape primarily in Jerez and Montilla-Moriles) to luscious, red dessert wines made in the Mediterranean from the Garnacha (Grenache) grape. Some good Moscatels are made in Mallorca, Alicante and Navarre. The northwest corner of Spain, Galicia, with its bitter Atlantic climate, is even making dessert wines, called “Tostadillos” in the village of Ribadivia (similar to France’s “Vin de Paille”). The Canary Islands have made interesting dessert wines for centuries (they are mentioned by Shakespeare, for example) and in recent years the quality of winemaking has been improved and the Canary Islands wines are being better marketed now. The winemaking styles for “Vinos Dulces” are also diverse, from “Late Harvest” (Vendimia Tardía) to “Fortified Wines” (Fermentación Parcial). Based on in-spain.info.
