Tasted by wineshaman on 11/4/2023 & rated 92 points: Decated 1hour, personally cellared for 10* years. This bottle was delicious, complex evolving dark and blue fruit, hints of truffles and dark chocolate, fully integrated, but still paired incredibly well well with thick choice filets. Rummaging though wine room, I found I have 3 bottles of this vintage that I did not know about. Apparently, a reason to celebrate! (308 views)
Tasted by Rcolella on 3/7/2022 & rated 90 points: Great Cabernet Sauvignon. (982 views)
Tasted by wineshaman on 8/10/2020 & rated 89 points: Cellared over seven years, perhaps a little smoother Thant the bottle tasted back in January certainly plenty of dark fruit, a good dose of oak and still some life left but I would drink soon. (1701 views)
Tasted by wineshaman on 1/26/2020 & rated 89 points: A little rough and disjointed on first taste but smoothed out with a little time revealing very dark fruit and loads of oak, reasonably long finish. (1952 views)
Tasted by wineshaman on 3/16/2019 & rated 88 points: PNP, dark fruit, oaky finish, simple yet easy to drink. (2375 views)
Tasted by wineshaman on 11/24/2017 & rated 89 points: Nice showing tonight, cassis, currants, plum, cedar, smooth and fully mature but can hold for a few more years. (3044 views)
Tasted by tomoem on 11/19/2016 & rated 89 points: Cheng's Drink Down our Cellar Party

Rich berry notes aromas. One of the best parts of this wine was its nose. The palette includes blackberry, with vanilla flavor on the finish. Shortish finish. (3511 views)
Tasted by Jump29 on 9/7/2016 & rated 88 points: Solid but not as good as remembered. (3068 views)
Tasted by wineshaman on 3/5/2016 & rated 87 points: PNP, red plum, cherry, green notes, still some austere notes, better than last bottle but not by much. (2881 views)
 Tasted by Vinophiliac559 on 11/13/2015 & rated 88 points: 87-88 pts (2793 views)
Tasted by Jump29 on 10/29/2015 & rated 88 points: Unremarkable - expected more. (2186 views)
Tasted by Tlanphier on 6/6/2015: Gift to Sara and Whit (1745 views)
Tasted by wineshaman on 11/2/2014 & rated 86 points: Decanted and tasted over 2hrs, decent fruit, this bottle seamed a bit austere and lacked concentration, still well made and approachable with a short decant. (1345 views)
Tasted by Tiderunner22 on 10/4/2014 & rated 88 points: Pleasant and consistent Cabernet which is enjoyable with or without food. Good value (2279 views)
Tasted by WineCPA on 3/24/2014 & rated 90 points: Nice for a mainstream Napa Cabernet. Dark fruit with black cherry and cassis. A hint of earth and leather round it out. Full bodied and comes in a bit hot at first. Needs air and a couple of years to round out a bit. Drink now-2020. Still going strong 2 days later. (3033 views)
Tasted by Thwine on 1/31/2014: Decant for hour.... Opens up. (2986 views)
Tasted by wineshaman on 1/5/2014 & rated 88 points: Consistent with previous note! (1637 views)
Tasted by wineshaman on 12/14/2013 & rated 88 points: Decanted 1hr, a young balanced Napa cab, with a smokey nose and plenty of plums, currants and blueberries on the palate. The finish is dry and astringent as expected. This efforts mid palate is a bit thin at this stage, but may fill out with a couple years on it's side. Not as rich and concentrated as some of the previous vintages from this producer but still a decent QPR if you can find this for around $20! 88+ (1624 views)
Tasted by RayOB on 12/11/2013 & rated 89 points: Drank at Davy's
Notes of black cherry and plum and cocoa. Smooth palate with some pepper in the after taste. Medium length. (3477 views)
Tasted by La Cave d'Argent on 9/11/2013 & rated 89 points: This opaque crimson Napa Cab is youthful yet very approachable. It offers up nice aromas and flavors of cassis, vanilla, cedar and spice. The wine is pure and silky on the palate, with low acidity, soft tannins and well-integrated alcohol (listed as 14.5%). Solid in the middle, it concludes with a medium-length, lush finish. Very polished and enjoyable, this is a wine which will show its best over the next five years. Excellent value here. Drink now-2018. (3914 views)
Tasted by AllRed on 7/27/2013: 4th Saturday Group brown bagger (Sue & Mike's): Cassis, black fruit, vanilla and caramel aromas. Firm tannins have a sweet edge and lead into flavors of dark fruit, oak spice and vanilla. Decent finish. (3342 views)
Tasted by thelostverse on 7/27/2013 & rated 87 points: This was overly sweet and ripe for my preferences. Some black fruit notes with soft tannins. (3295 views)
Tasted by petitblanc on 5/22/2013 & rated 87 points: Decidedly boozy, but the creamy red fruit and oak make this decent enough for its price. Off the list, half price night at Vincent's in Escondido. (2774 views)
 Tasted by Vinophiliac559 on 4/9/2013 & rated 89 points: 88-89 pts (796 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
